The components and hoops were formed from sterling silver and Argentium. It is nickel free and hypoallergenic and is stronger than sterling but is not tarnish resistant.

Gold filled wire was wrapped around the bottom of the hoops (gold filled wire contains 100 times more gold than gold plating, and the extra layer of gold means gold filled jewelry lasts longer and stands up to wear and tear better than gold plated jewelry)

The nickel is hypoallergenic and lead-free (a good choice for skin sensitive ears).
