My dining room table has a wood top that is 35 inches wide. What size trapezoid legs should you use?

To maintain the minimum width recommendation at the base, the legs should be at least 26" W at the top (tapering in to about 20" W at the bottom) assuming standard dining height. Depending on how much knee room you want around your legs and how much support/stability you want from your legs, anywhere between 26" and 30" in width would be my recommendation.

At the base, what is the recommended minimum width? A 28"t x 14"w seemed like a good size to me. This should leave about 8" at the base, according to my calculations. Isn't this a little too teeny-tiny?

For a 30" H table, a minimum base width of 20" is recommended for optimum stability. You can, however, go a few inches narrower than this without any problems. I wouldn't recommend anything narrower than 18" for dining tables if at all possible. 12" W is typically sufficient for sofa or entry tables with one end against a wall. If you have the option of going wider than 14", I strongly advise you to do so. We can also make the legs with less of a taper, such as 14" W at the top and 12" W at the bottom, but this will give them a different appearance, almost rectangular. I'm looking for legs for a 12" wide live edge coffee table; if we request a 10" width, how much will it taper to at the bottom?

Because they have a 6 degree taper, they will taper in about 3" at the bottom for standard coffee table height. br>br>Thank you, Evan, br>br>

There is no give or weakness in this completely solid steel. The measurements are accurate, and there are no flaws in the product. At a summer camp, we ordered 34" tall legs to match 24" stools. They arrived within the time frame I was given when I placed the order.
