You won't find this kind of curry in a local restaurant. The spice is purely a seasoning, adding rich aromas and flavors to dishes, but is not a curry in its own right. In a short period of time, I developed several recipes that used this, and when the jar ran out (brand unknown), I found this product. This product is twice as good as my previous brand. It contains the same spices, but is much more flavorful and rich in flavor. Rather than being all powder, there are pieces of garlic and shallots in this. It is a good thing for me, but if you are not going to use it in a dish with a great deal of liquid, you must first rehydrate it in water to avoid crunchy bits of dried onions and garlic. There is nothing inherently sinister about this seasoning, except that the way it tastes makes everyone put it in everything. For dishes that are well suited for this, it performs superbly in terms of enhancing the flavors and aroma.
