A date code of "88081619" appears on the jar and states "purchase and use by date on jar". I purchased this product last summer (2017). I believe it's the 16th of August. My recommendation would be to not be too concerned with an expiration date for a product that has been cooked during the processing process and that has vinegar in it. It wouldn't be hard for me to think about what was inside the wiener I was putting

There have been times when I've redered this product It has happened only one time where a bottle was broken, but was replaced within days without any issues.
There is sugar in it, as a tablespoon contains 4g.

There are a few other sweet relishes out there that taste better than this one. To my taste, it's the color of the green that you actually pay When it comes to authenticity, less expensive relishes can be spruced up with a little food coloring, if that is what you are after.
"The real" emerald green Chicago hot dog relish used to be made by a firm whose name began with "G," but the company has since disappeared from the scene as far as I know. I don't think it's as bad as I remember Vienna Relish, but it's definitely not what I recall. You can get a good version of it, but it would be ideal if you could obtain the recipe for the original, which was sold at places like Franksville during Both the franks and the buns are different. It's funny how old I am now considering that franks used to be bright red (their dye sometimes stained the bun) and slightly sweet. I've never seen a pair like that before. I feel bad about this. The hot dogs I make make me smile when they are dressed up with Vienna or Nathan's dogs, Vienna relish, fresh diced onions, and celery salt and it is just not the same as.
Due to a lack of inventory, I ordered this brand of relish instead of my usual brand. As part of my culinary education, I used this relish on a lot of different foods, especially Chicago dogs, and Vienna was the preferred brand of this relish. When I tried this for the first time I was surprised to find that it was not nearly as good as Puckered Pickles. Though they aren't bad, Puckered Pickles are much better in terms of taste and texture.
It is hard to find relish in a color like that. As part of a Chicago style hot dog, relish is a vital part of the ingredients, which are listed in the jar. We grew up in the Chicago suburbs (where ketchup on a hot dog is almost a crime), so going back to the suburbs is like going to our roots. This stuff is essential to the proper preparation of a hot dog.
You have to see it to believe it. A short time after reading, I found myself at a hot-spot This is a joint in a dog. It was on the list as #3. However, it became #1 due to its proximity to my home. The Day Glow Relish is the star of this meal, although the dog, bun, and pickle are all outstanding. I had to order Chicago Hot Dogs when I was in Chicago. As if the dream had come to life once more. Flying a bottle home was part of the purchase. Amazon has now given me four bottles of the product.
Unfortunately, this contains corn syrup. It did not occur to me prior to opening the bottle that the ingredients were listed. right on, but I'm highly sensitive to corn syrup and will have to toss it. Although it looks like a wonderful product, it did not taste as sweet as I expected it to be.
I also like the size of the individual pieces (they are not too small). This is also perfect for Chicago pups!.
