Questions & Answers
Weird! This salt is unquestionably for use in cooking! They're pebbles that are hard and coarse. You'll need a salt grinder or a mortar and pestle, however, if you want chunks. You wouldn't use this salt right out of the container on your food. It should be pulverized.
A shaker is what this product is.
Mlne, which can be purchased on Amazon, completely dissolves.

I purchased this product in the jar a few months ago, and it was a nice pink color with excellent quality. br>I loved it so much that I reordered it from Natierra, but they didn't have the jar in stock, so I went with the shaker. br>I repurchased this in the shaker 13 ounce and it was terrible, with barely any himalayan pink color at all. br>It's almost white, but I'm afraid I can't upload a picture because I'd show you. br>I am dissatisfied with this product and will seek out a different brand.
For a couple of years, I've been using this particular brand and type of pink salt for a variety of purposes. I mostly use it in cooking, but if I start to get a sinus infection or cold, I mix a dose of this in warm water with 1000mg C and a Zinc tab and call it a day! It's great if you have a niggling UTI or a full-fledged UTI. Without antibiotics, a stronger dose combined with plenty of water will provide relief in about an hour. I also put a dash of apple cider vinegar in my dogs' water on a daily basis. This product has numerous advantages. br>br>I prefer this 13-ounce shaker to the shorter shaker because it lasts longer and is far more convenient than the glass jar. On a Sunday afternoon, Prime shipping took two days. I would have preferred Monday delivery, but that option was not available to me.
Salt is salt, as some have told me. . . . That is not the case. I believe that once you've tried genuine Himalayan pink salt, you'll never want to go back to the white stuff! This salt has a wonderful flavor to it. It has a distinct flavor that is distinct from regular white salt; perhaps the minerals are responsible for this. It is, however, absolutely delectable. I've ordered so much of it that I think I've got a lifetime supply in my house. . . lol.
br>br>It's a fantastic salt. br>br>It's lower in sodium than sea salt and contains no preservatives or additives. br>br>It has a light flavor and is saltier than sea salt, so it can be used sparingly. br>br>In their grinders, all of the TV chefs use coarse sea salt. This is a step forward. It's also sold as coarse salt, which can be ground at home. I'm not going back. br>br>.
The packaging on this salt container was terrible, and it was extremely difficult to open. I was on the verge of stabbing myself when I attempted to open it. I can't get the plastic lid out of the salt because it fell in. What a waste of money!.
The shaker (top) could be made better because (based on my experience with the one I received), it's difficult to open and close the product. I must also add that if I were to repurchase, I'd go for the 13 ounce pouch because it's a much better value for money. I can always pour it into one of my pantry's empty shaker (glass) containers.
I haven't tried this salt as a seasoning, so I can't comment on that. br>br>I purchased this salt in the hopes of making a simple electrolyte drink, but I was disappointed. To begin with, it isn't a "fine-grain" salt in any sense of the term. It has a coarser texture than regular Morton's Kosher salt-- I've used it in water and the taste is poor; it gives water a graphite-like flavor. I've compared it to another himalayan salt and to mass-produced kosher salt. Neither added flavor to water from the same source as market kosher salt.
I've fallen in love with Himalayan salt, which took some getting used to when we first started using it a year ago. You only need a fraction of a teaspoon of table salt, and one crack can be extremely powerful. The flavor can also be a little different, and I prefer it now. Give it a shot; you'll be happy you did.
