Questions & Answers
Unlike resistant starches, our Expandex does not have resistance.
It has been "modified," Chrissy, I don't know how it is done. The product seemed to function the same as other tapioca starch and flour I've used in the past. Despite the description, I cannot tell whether the flavors have been enhanced. I do not use tapioca starch alone, so I can't tell how the flavor has been improved. There was no gluten reaction, as far as I am aware. Unlike any other plant, it appears that "tapioca flour" and "tapioca starch" are the same it is not an additive. It is my hope that this is helpful.
Having never made pudding out of it, I have no experience with it. As a gluten free flour, I have only mixed it with other gluten free products.
Christopher, I understand that a blog site for Expandex describes its product as a proprietary product and only a handful of people understand the difference. One of the most common questions people ask is whether other chemicals are present Despite the fact that the non-GM food is gluten-free, the fears are that the approved FDA process may duplicate the effects of gluten, but perhaps chemicals are to blame. I wonder. You're made to think about it. I like it, though a healthy sprinkle of dried onion flakes and 1/4 cup of organic cheese really give it a wonderful flavor-- As far as toast goes, it is also great. Maybe someone else can solve this nut but it isn't the answer you are looking for or I am as well ---- but maybe someone else ----can assist. Among the ingredients are 1 cup better batter, 1 cup tapioca flour (starch) and 1 cup Expandex. Flour is what I use to make my basic bread. Next, mix two eggs, tablespoon agave, dash of salt, 1/4 cup organic cheese, 1 cup water, organic onion flakes, and bake for 35 minutes. A quick stir of Sage, Dill, and Thyme in two tablespoons of Coconut Oil. In the gluten free cycle of the bread machine - Your project will be completed in two hours

Making gluten-free bread flour with this product is my favorite use of this product. Recipes I have tested with this ingredient have worked very well.
Thank you for Judee's Expandex! I am glad to have found it! In order for me to maintain a GF diet, I am always looking for products that accommodate my dietary needs! Thanks for your kind words!.
The Expandex is a must-have if you bake anything gluten free. Since I bought this miracle starch, I've made good dumplings for the first time in years. I made chicken and dumplings last week and the texture was so divine that even my non-chef friends enjoyed it It was a hit with the gluten-free family members! Expandex is the only ingredient I will ever use again to make baked goods.
I will give you one hint. I've never seen anything like this before. We who can't eat gluten, enjoy the way this makes our bread rise. I will give you one hint. You may want to add some flaver, since this detracts from the flavor.
A gluten free challah bread cannot be baked without this. Tapicoa is made in some way to make it work better than regular tapicoa, but I am not sure what it does.
Arrival of the package revealed that there was a hole. It had soaked through the box and dripped all over. The majority of the time, everything goes smoothly, thus I gave the review.
The glutenfree on a shoestring website mentioned expandex. It was the first time I made fried bread with it. I was so blown away by its texture. It seemed as if wheat was included. I've used it in a variety of projects and it always comes out perfectly.
It improves my gluten-free baked goods greatly, but I don't buy it very often because the price is so high.
