I've used agar agar before for culturing edible mushrooms, and it's an excellent product

Some brands were successful, while others were unsuccessful. It's simple to measure and dispense, and the yogurt cultures I've been experimenting with in coconut milk have yielded excellent results. This is what I use to culture the starter before putting it in the yogurt maker, and it really helps to extend the life of the starter. It's simple to spot contamination before adding it to a batch and ruining it! I have yet to encounter any contaminants with this product, as the yogurt cultures quickly colonize the media. br>br>It works well as a thickener. I used it to thicken a stew last night, and while there was no discernible difference in flavor, it worked just as well as my usual cornstarch method. br>br>I tried this as a gelatin a few days ago with coconut milk and chia seed for a tapioca-like texture. Like pudding, I used erythritol as a sweetener, and despite the exotic and unusual ingredients I used, I knew it would be added to my list of favorite desserts. Stop looking for agar that needs to be pulverized before use at your local Asian market, especially if it's the only reason you have to go there (as I did). It's far too simple here.

Okay, Agar, I understand. Agar is the thickener of choice in many homemade quickie cheese recipes, and after some research, I decided on the powder form because it is said to be far more potent than the flakes or stick/cube forms. br>br>Well, after a few tries, I think I've figured it out. Love. It! br>br>It's truly amazing and does exactly what it says on the tin, and it can be used in anything from homemade quick-fix meals to professional-looking presentations. Sandwiches, pizza, and even vegan-friendly cheese recipes jello! br>br>Studies show that it can help with minor weight loss. Bowel functions have improved in terms of weight loss and regularity. The only snag is that it is less safe than carrageenan. It's effective, and there's no strange flavor to it. It appears to be more concentrated than other brands, which is beneficial in terms of reducing usage but has a negative impact on recipes. I've been cutting down by 60%.

I use agar because it allows me to cook pasta in the sauce with a little water in my microwave (they say I'm lazy, but it takes up all of my time) without it boiling over and causing a mess.

First and foremost, I'd like to state that I'm new to the need for a product such as this. 9 months to be exact. This product has served me well thus far. However, I am new to this. Allowing cause to turn your head is not a good idea. This product accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do. At my level of experience, I simply cannot give 5 stars. So don't take that detour, please. Make it happen and tell others about it. So far, the product has served me well. It's something I'll repurchase.
