This was exactly what I was supposed to make. We found that the seasoning packets had an unpleasant chemical taste. In the past two years, I have had this problem twice when purchasing through Amazon. The same product procured through Krogers has never been an issue. There seems to be a process by which Amazon purchases rejected items. I will never repeat that mistake. I am wondering if something is leaching into these boxes not just with this line, but with another product line as well. In part due to this reason, I may stop purchasing all box items from Amazon.
My favorite thing about this dish is that it's easy to prepare and tastes wonderful. I believe it is relatively forgiving if you make a mistake and doesn't require too many steps. An even better alternative is to make it look like it was Thanks for reading!.
The chicken I bought was supposed to be velveeta skillet meal, so I fried it and chunked it up. As I picked up the box, I realized I was supposed to use hamburger (or a substitute for hamburger), but there was none. In this dish, I still used my chicken chunks, and it turned out great! She likes it just as much like that now too! I bought some for my daughter and told her to do the same, so she tried it that way to as well.
There is a great deal of flavor similar to Hamburger Helper, but there is also cheese sauce in the packet. This is an easy, fast dish with no real resemblance to a Philly cheese steak, but it's quite tasty nonetheless. The chicken breast I used was stir-fried, but next time I will use stir-fried chicken breast. The fried onions were a wonderful finishing touch. The pandemic was to blame for me not having any.
