Tahini sauce, not tahini paste, is used as a salad dressing
3/5

I should have known this wasn't what I was looking for when the product didn't say "tahini paste" and Amazon advertised it as "tahini sauce. " When compared to traditional tahini paste, this product is very liquid, and oil separation is common, so I stirred and stirred and stirred, but it didn't thicken much. I take out another brand (of genuine tahini paste) and compare the calories per serving of the Lior and the other brands. According to the USDA website, 2 tablespoons sesame tahini has 178 calories. Both products simply state that they contain ground sesame seeds, but the Lior product is runnier, has more fat and saturated fat calories, double the amount of carbohydrates, and more protein. So the Lior product's labeling isn't clear as to why it's different from traditional tahini, but it's not a paste, but more like a salad dressing in consistency. I'm not going to buy this brand again because I need tahini paste for my recipes. This is the sauce to use if you want a more liquid tahini product in your cooking.

WOW, this is by far the best tahini I've ever had
5/5

WOW! I tried a lot of different Tahinis and this one has by far the best flavor and is the freshest; it's also a lot easier to stir than the others and makes a really creamy Hummus. There's a recipe for a Tahini dressing on the container; it's so good, and it's the best Tahini dressing I've ever made. I felt like I was in a Mediterranean restaurant where they knew what they were doing. I'm going to buy some more, and I HIGHLY suggest it! By the way, you can use it to make the creamiest hummus by adding it to your Hummus recipe. It's delicious.

It results in the formation of a sediment
3/5

Even at room temperature, it forms a large thick sediment that cannot be dissolved with its liquid portion; the previous brand I purchased was Baron, and it was all liquid at room temperature, then thickened slowly in the refrigerator until it became a paste, which is how I like Tahini. I ordered LiOR because I couldn't find Baron's Tahini to reorder it on Amazon. The LiOR flavor has a mild olive oil taste component to it, which is fine because I like olive oil as well, but it's not something I expected in a ground sesame product. Due to the above-mentioned issues, I will consume the remainder of the LiOR Tahini that I purchased before purchasing another brand that is not LiOR. I hope that Baron will be available again on Amazon, but if not, I will have to search for an alternative brand. To answer your question about how I consume Tahini, I add it to some food items as a sauce, but I most frequently eat a small piece of it as a snack.

The jar and lid are extremely flimsy, resulting in poor packaging
3/5

It reminds me of a juicebox for kids. It will squirt out if you squeeze it the wrong way. Like a condiment bottle, the lid had a small pull tab that allowed it to be removed from the plastic ring. The plastic-sealed covering is on the inside. My plastic jar, on the other hand, had a faulty seal and was leaking. Rather than screwing on like a regular jar, the lid snaps on. The tahini that accumulated around the top as a result of the leak (and the brown ring left after pulling the tab to remove the lid) can be seen in the photo I've included. I tried it anyway because I'm not usually put off by things that some people might think are contaminated or something. It has a pleasant flavor. There's a hint of bitterness at the end, which I usually get from plain tahini. It was simple to mix and quite runny. I'm looking forward to seeing how my baked goods turn out with the consistency. Other tahinis I've tried had a thicker consistency overall. br>As a result, despite the good taste, I am unlikely to purchase this product again due to the container. I despise grabbing a jar and getting oil on my hand, which is exactly what is happening here despite my best efforts to wipe it off.

Okay, but it arrived dripping with oil and lacking in a nutty flavor
4/5

It's fine, and I'll use it, but it was leaking when it arrived. Although the jar's plastic seal was intact, some oil leaked from the area around it. It's a good thing I opened this box the same day I got it. If I'm tired after work, I'll put small Amazon boxes on my loveseat and open them the next day if I'm still tired. But I opened it right away and noticed that some of the oil was just beginning to seep through the cardboard, which would have been disastrous if I had let it sit and get on my loveseat. The only other criticism I have of this tahini is that other brands I've tried have a more nutty, robust flavor. Even though this one doesn't, I'm going to use it anyway. Today, I rubbed some boneless, skinless chicken thighs with a simple paste made with a little garlic and onion powder, some of this tahini, and a smidgeon of gochujang red chili paste. They turned out great after I roasted them. My main reason for purchasing this was to use it on vegetables because I eat mostly plant-based meals with the occasional meat. I'm not sure if it has the depth of flavor I'm looking for in a good baba ghanoush, but I'll give it a shot.
