This is the third time I've purchased Bob's 4-pack. Each item was fresh and well within its expiration date when I received the package. I use all but one package of Bob's muesli with yogurt, and I've tried other, more expensive muesli before, but I always come back to Bob's. It's low in sugar and fat, but it's still incredibly tasty. I would strongly suggest it.
If you're new to Bob's, this is a great place to start or add to your collection. In my opinion, this item is almost a ten. I used hemp seed powder, flax seed (which I blended a little), chia seed, ceylon cinnamon, and cacao powder from Bob's Red Mill. This blend has a carbohydrate content of 8 to 12 grams per serving. Protein content of 15 g in a 7-ounce serving. 20gm contains all of the amino acids found in meat protein, plus hemp powder, so you can avoid eating too much meat. I use freshly ground peanuts in my recipe. Some days, butter or fresh fruit are the best options. Although I'm not a fan of the texture or overpowering flavor of coconut flakes, their inclusion in this product is well-balanced. For a friend who practices mixed martial arts, I've created a custom blend. It's his go-to meal before and after a workout. He claims that it is light on the stomach and that he has noticed the nutritional benefits after only two weeks of using it instead of plastic jug protein drinks. When I run out of my blend, this works well as a stand-alone meal for the pour cook and eat person. 5 of 10.
"As a Swiss, I can attest that "Bob's Red Mill" is the best Muesli available in the United States. Coconut shavings and sunflower seeds are included in the "Fruit and Seed Muesli. " It complements the original nicely.
I've tried a lot of gluten-free hot cereals and this is by far the best; I usually react to gluten-free oatmeal as if my body can't tell the difference, but I never have with this product; I'll make a big batch and store it in single-serve glass pyrex bowls in the fridge for convenience. This is something I strongly suggest. It's great for breakfast or a snack at any time of day, and I only use honey and a little extra water to thin it out.
This is what I eat first thing in the morning. In a bowl, I soak 1/2 cup of it overnight in organic soy milk. I add chopped walnuts, sliced apple, a couple of spoonfuls of Plain Greek Yogurt, and a pinch of ground cinnamon in the morning. I understand that this appears to be a lot of work for a "bowl of cereal," but I believe it is worthwhile because breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
