I made this pie when I was a teen (many, many years ago). When my mother and I went to Amish country in Pennsylvania my mother and I would always have this pie. As I was researching a possible trip to that region with my husband, I found a website that delivered pies. I found it for a lower price on Amazon with Prime shipping and then checked on Amazon again. I must say, this brings back quite a few Even now I miss my mom from when she passed away in 2014. In fact, I almost felt as if she were here with me as I bit into this pie. It was a pleasure doing business with you, except that I was disappointed that the box was clearly marked "THIS SIDE UP" in bright red letters. I’m surprised FedEx drivers are hired based on a skill that isn’t the ability to read, because he left my pie on the front porch on its side. The pie had leaked and spilled out on the porch. It was a blessing that the other one was perfect. was put in the freezer to be used as a special dessert for a progressive dinner a few weeks from now. I didn't like this pie at all! It was nothing like what my family used to make! My background is Pennsylvania Dutch and this pie couldn't have been more different! A dark molasses should have been used instead of corn syrup it should not have been made with Additionally, the pies did not arrive in good condition

This is what I wanted to be in love with. I was pleased to find them in good condition and had them delivered promptly. It was sadly not very enjoyable to eat them. Some of the good ones I have had in the past, including from my Dutch PA neighbors Laws, on the other hand, tasted strongly of molasses. Colored pale and tasting more of corn syrup than molasses, these cookies were pleasantly sweet. I will not repeat myself.

My parents used to take us to Lancaster when I was a child, and I remember these pies exactly how they were back then. A deliciously flaky crust and a perfectly moist filling make this cake sweet but not too sweet. The only problem is that I don't have any more for myself since I gave them as gifts.

Having grown up in Chester County, PA, right next to Lancaster County, the heartland of Amish cuisine, I've always loved Amish food. Shoofly pie hadn't been on my menu for years, but I had a craving for it and The Bake Shop filled that need. Bird-in-Hand used to be on my way home from the office My pie would be traditional because it was made by hand. I love it! This is fresh! It was delicious! This is truly one of the best Wet Bottom Shoe Fly Pies I've had in awhile!
