I decided to test my husband's ability to replace his broken watch band with a new one. I was just looking around when I realized I needed a new band. Easy.
When purchasing the black/gray, black/white, or black/red bands, keep in mind that the black is on the OUTSIDE of the band, which makes no sense. It isn't that way for all of them, and you can tell which way the clasp faces by looking at the photos of each one (I couldn't figure out how to change the clasp direction, but I imagine a jeweler could). Why sell different color combinations when most are black on the outside and you can't see the inside color at all? For example, the yellow/black has the yellow on the outside; why sell different color combinations when most are black on the outside and you can't see the inside color at all? What's funnier is that the red one is more expensive than the gray one! Otherwise, the band is of good quality, and it's fairly simple to install if you're dexterous, as you'll be working with small tools, small parts, and in awkward positions.
The band fit perfectly, but I had to use the old band's pins/screws with the new band because the ones that came with it were too small. I'm glad I didn't discard them. I gave four stars in this manner.
The only reason I gave it four stars is because the loose end of the band has two securing loops to go through. It does not appear to be needed. I suppose I could sever one of their limbs, but we're already here.
The watch band is fantastic; it's extremely comfortable! One of the newly installed pins had a problem. One of the pin's heads was too big for the replacement tool. It wasn't a big deal because I just used an old pin!.
It's simple to set up and inexpensive, and it's great that Garmin is now producing watches with interchangeable bands. The tools are also included, which is fantastic.
Because the watchband that came with the Garmen S20 Golf watch broke, I ordered this replacement band, which included pins. I had to re-use the old pins because one was not usable due to a faulty screw head. The band has a rubbery feel to it, which makes it difficult to put on a coat. It gets caught on the inside of the sleeve and pulls the band securement loop out. It's a piece of clothing that's easy to put on and take off. This product is inferior to the original watch band that came with my Garmin S20 watch, and I would not recommend it.
The band is fantastic, and it was simple to set up. However. The wrong tool was sent with the band (one was correct and the other was incorrect), and two tools were sent so that I could install it myself, but one of them didn't fit. Rather than sending everything back and waiting for the correct tool to arrive, I went to my local Lowe's and ended up having to buy a small toolset for $6. I spent 30 minutes with a store associate looking for this uncommon tool to remove and replace the watch band.
