It is not a perfect set, but a picture that is truly extraordinary
4/5

The Sony XBR85X850D we currently watch on a daily basis is our primary 4K TV, which we have owned since the technology first became mainstream three or four years ago. Despite not having a large amount of 4K content - though we have 4K blu-ray Discs - Ultra HD televisions deliver picture quality that's miles ahead of regular HD sets, especially when compared with Blu-rays and Apple TVs. It is really hard to beat the picture if you combine HDR with it. My initial reaction to the picture is, "Wow. " It's my first time experiencing OLED 4K and though I had high expectations, it's certainly exceeded expectations. There is an inky black and a great deal of color in the picture. My TV is the first I've owned that took so little energy out of the house It consists of A box adjustment may be needed. I can't describe how stunning it is. On my new TV, there was a lot of fuss and tweaking at first, but I eventually got it to work The adjustable piece of furniture was made in just a couple minutes, while the rest were more complex. I'm so glad that it does not come with artifact creation settings turned on by default. There are several new features that are a game changer for smart TVs, such as switches (which, unfortunately, only work with compatible inputs) that sense what you're watching and adjust the picture settings. Replace the Blu-ray player with a 4K one Blu-ray and it automatically changes the screen to Cinema Pro mode, Netflix automatically changes the screen to Cinema Pro mode The system makes sure the best screen is chosen for that as well. The default settings are super cool and unlike a lot of videos, they actually improve the screen, even if you are a pretty picky video viewer like me. Auto-play is enabled when the auto-play feature is turned on. You can also adjust brightness to your liking. It's a bedroom set and there is a distinct difference between watching it in the daylight and in the dark before going to bed at night. The sensor does seem to be working well, keeping the picture even in varying lighting conditions. That set is not for me There were no flaws in the set up. IR reception here is either not good due to the remote I received, or there is something else going on. In spite of replacing three batteries with fresh sets, it would only work after every third or fourth press, and usually only after pulling the batteries out and shifting them. There is a chance it was a short somewhere and I had a dud, but it made the lengthy set of checkboxes look as if it is not from the internet In fact, the set up process was very cumbersome, as the remote would not even work when it touched the television's Since I use a universal remote to control all our home theater hardware, once I have the hardware set up, I can then program the remote to control The other reason I couldn't give this a 5-star review is because I can't see it as a 5 There is one issue with this Sony Android piece of equipment, and that is the menu system isn't as intuitive as our other Sony Android TV. You don't automatically see the newly downloaded apps on the home screen or in the apps line, and you have to search through a sidebar or additional menu setting to find I also don't like the layout of the home screen and the process of entering the home screen isn't as intuitive as it should be the changes they made aren't A one-stop shop - There is no problem accessing Netflix through the button and it is as smooth as silk However, it seems as though the app store has intentionally made it harder to access apps that did not pay for inclusion. This is quite galling when talking about a TV that costs more than $3,000. There was another set we had - We had a sound problem, but no picture (menus were visible, but videos would not display), that took me way too long to resolve, so I just reset the system (hold power button on remote for 10 seconds until unit starts with Android logo), which fixed it right away. With the exception of these fairly minor gripes, which both we have remedied by using other devices (the Logitech remote and the Apple TV), this television is simply gorgeous. It is thinner than a fingernail With a width of 16 inches it was easy to mount on the wall and came with plates that covered all the input areas, making it look almost as smooth from the back as from had to leave off one plate since it wouldn't fit over three HDMI, ethernet, As a result, the team won 3-1 The year is When compared to the old Samsung it replaced, it looks like an old tube TV. There is a strong emphasis on thinness in the futuristic design of this device. Using the built-in sound, if you choose to do so, is very good This model has excellent picture quality, which is even more impressive for a model this narrow, and the color reproduction is quite high, even in a house with multiple high-definition TVs TV sets at the top of the line. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised if you have the money to spend on this beautiful television.

It is great to watch TV, but the service on Amazon is not great
5/5

A very good picture quality and easy installation are the two features of the TV. The delivery was beyond the stated delivery timeframe and our customer service experience was disappointing. Expected fast delivery, but the TV did not arrive by the stated delivery date. I received the item after 8 days even though Prime shipping is free for one day. I had to wait four days after the TV shipped for it to arrive. Moreover, since delivery requires a signature, and the tracking indicated incorrectly that the package was "out for delivery", I had to wait an extra day for the tv to arrive. The following day, I waited yet another day for it to arrive. A customer service representative at Amazon offered me $5 for the error after my chat with them. This is the last of my big ticket purchases.

A new king of TVs has been crowned! Avoid LG and go with Sony if you're concerned about the OLED panel lottery
5/5

One of the main reasons why Sony OLEDs are more expensive than LG OLEDs is that Master Series OLEDs use Grade A OLED panels made by LG Display, which means that the chance of receiving a set with poor uniformity/banding and tinting will be much lower. It appears that the 5% looks great after the first short compensation cycle after my set has almost perfect white uniformity. Also, the colors are great, the motion is awesome, and the upscaling is excellent. You need to purchase a Sony OLED if you want a great 2019. Period!.

OLED TV with 4K resolution and outstanding picture quality
5/5

LG produces the OLED panels, which are used in this Sony TV, and Sony's amazing image processing system is also used. It is important to note that the OLED panels Sony is obtaining are exceptionally flat and do not exhibit the rippled reflections that LQ OLED TVs display when turned It is for these two factors alone that the higher price for the TV is justified. The image quality is excellent as well. Motion blur is not perceptible, there are no noise artifacts, and some off-center shots are not visible One of the key things one notices about LED backlit LCD TVs is the axis dimming or color shift. A natural color and tone rendition as well as crisp details are evident on the TV. It is possible that the program material is not suitable for our TV to display it, but we intend to ignore that- This film is an older one - The flaws in the material based on that program will be You'll notice which producers chose to use less expensive film or had to change the type of emulsions in some cameras, which results in a noticeable change between scenes in image quality. You'll love this TV if you're a movie buff! A television is one of my favorite things. There is a speaker on the entire surface of the TV- In addition, the dialogue is crisp and easy to understand, which places this TV at the top of a short list of televisions to consider for your living There's no way to understate the realism of this TV and there's no way to understand it until you see.

Sorry to hear you are so disappointed
3/5

4/16 was the day I received my first 77A9G. Having removed our Pioneer Kuro 6020 and replaced it with the A9G, we unplugged the old model after 12 years. I am in awe of this I'm not a fan of the Android TV operating system, but I mostly use an AppleTV 4K, so it's no big deal. After I downloaded the Android 9 update and tweaked the picture a bit, I figured my phone was all set. In 3 days, I was watching a movie when the screen suddenly went black, and the power light began blinking red four I have followed all the troubleshooting steps, but what I've seen online suggests that the power board may have failed. As a result, I reached out to It only took a day for the concierge to contact me and send a new TV to me. Under the circumstances, it was about as good as it could be. As with my first 77A9G, my second lasted 15 days before going out exactly in Considering that so many people have posted online about this, it does not appear to be an isolated incident. But happening so fast? I cannot imagine what triggers this given that I have the same APC H15 Power Conditioner plugged in. So I'm waiting for concierge service to decide what I should do next, and my trusty Kuro is back where it belongs, parked in front of my costly and As of late, Sony has been acting in an unusual way.
