Questions & Answers

Is a sound bar required?

Thank you for your interest in the Sony BRAVIA XR MASTER Series A90J, Josephocathail. With Dolby Atmos support, this television's Acoustic Surface Audio technology is the best it's ever been. However, if you want to enjoy a full home theater experience, we recommend one of our soundbars, such as the HT-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX For the full 5-channel experience, use the Z9F with compatible rear speakers. Yes, you can use headphones from any of the three options. This TV has a 5mm headphone audio out jack on the side, or it supports the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) Bluetooth function. Is it better to connect the video signal from a DVD player with hdmi directly to the television or through an audio receiver?

Thank you for reaching out to us, Jim. Regardless of where you connect your DVD player, the video signal quality should remain consistent. If your AV receiver supports HDMI ARC, then it should work fine in either case. I recommend connecting your DVD player to the HDMI Input port that is the most convenient for you. I hope this information is useful.

Selected User Reviews For Sony A90J 65 Inch TV: BRAVIA XR OLED 4K Ultra HD Smart Google TV with Dolby Vision HDR and Alexa Compatibility XR65A90J- 2021 Model

It's nice, but it's not worth three thousand dollars! This is a $3,000 55in tv that doesn t live up to that price because 40% of the tv is reclaimed plastic
3/5

The packaging is a cheap, plain cardboard insignia that appears to be worth $100. At this price, or at any price, Google forces you to accept tos or you won't be able to watch TV offline. Simply put, motion is bad. On 24p, it is juddery, jittery, and blurry. 30p. 60p and higher are smooth, as they should be given the increased frame rate. The sound quality is good, with a good amount of bass. You essentially have a built-in mini soundbar. The remote's backlight is activated by motion, which is very nice. It's very posh. HDR and SDR are equally impressive. The new imax enhanced preset enhances all content to its full potential. Bravia core is a marketing ploy to drum up interest in a new subscription service, not a genuine feature. Gaming is enjoyable at 16ms input lag, but not as enjoyable as on the cx, which has 14ms and VRR available right away! Sony has announced that its virtual reality headset will be available in the winter of 2021! So you were also duped into believing it had vrr! For gamers, this is a letdown! There's no XR logo on the back, either! That, too, was a lie! Sony has become excessively arrogant. This product demonstrates what happens when businesses place a higher value on profits over quality experiences. It's a nice television, but it's not worth $3,000. I'd either buy a cx or wait for a sale. This is far too expensive, and only the most discerning cinephiles will be able to justify the cost. For more information, look up Quantum TV, but best of luck. This year, Sony didn't make much of an effort. They couldn't even be bothered to affix the top of the box with glue, staples, or tape. You'll be blown away if you lower your expectations or watch it on an old TV. Otherwise, simply wait for the sale to happen. Goodluck.

Fantastic television
5/5

I just got the Sony A90J a few days ago. The presentation of the product was superb. I took the television out of its packaging and switched it on. The picture quality is unrivaled, the sound is fantastic, and the design is flawless thanks to the improved panel brightness. I was skeptical that this Panel would live up to my expectations, but it did. Simply because of the aesthetics, it's very appealing. I was worried that this Panel would be all hype, but I'm glad that such a large purchase ended up being a Jack Pot. I'm trying to come up with some negatives as a layperson. Some people may prefer more brightness, but I believe 700 to 800 nits will suffice for my needs on a regular basis.

I was let down
3/5

Sony's quality control is disappointing because the 65" has a red tint and serious grid issues. Other websites are discussing how it is hampered by the 65" and how costly it is to be accepted.

WOW! What a world of difference there is! I can't express how happy I am with my Sony A90J TV purchase
5/5

I've never bought a television this expensive before, and I didn't want to make a mistake. I was completely satisfied from the moment I opened the box and turned on the television. The picture quality is incredible, the sound is incredible, and the user interface is incredibly fluid. 1. br>br> Picture: The picture quality is vibrant, revealing details that would have been missed or easily overlooked on an older television. Before leaving the factory, every TV in Sony's Master Series is professionally calibrated. This saves the owner time by preventing him from wasting time trying to improve the image quality. The TV can now adjust itself to the lighting environment in which it is being viewed thanks to new computer processing. When it comes to content viewing, OLED is a game changer. Whites are whiter, and blacks are darker, all without impairing one's ability to see what's going on around them.
2. Sound: The audio produced by this television is comparable to that of a 5. Only one audio system is available. I used to have a premium 3. I had a two-channel sound bar with a subwoofer hooked up to an older TV, and it sounded fantastic. I couldn't imagine using my sound bar to replace the sound quality on this TV once I heard it. It can monitor the sound in the room and adjust it based on where you're sitting thanks to the computer programming. When my kids are sleeping, I have to turn down the volume so that the action or suspenseful scenes in a movie don't wake them up.
3. User-Interface Design: First and foremost, the smoothness of transitioning from app to app or scrolling through various contents is far superior to that of other TVs. Because of how slow my other TVs are, I find myself hating them when I use them. When I first set up the TV to add all of the apps I have access to, I thought it would be a little more complicated than it actually is. After scrolling through, I was able to navigate with ease and without difficulty.
4. Casting: In the past, I've tried Google's Chromecast Dongles and they've always had issues staying connected. The TV's casting feature works flawlessly and maintains a steady connection throughout. br>br>After more than two weeks of use, I am impressed and pleased with my Sony A90J 55-inch TV purchase. I'll check in on a regular basis to keep you up to date on how things are going. If you're on the fence about this TV, I recommend doing some research on it and other TVs in its class before making a decision. If you're still thinking about buying this TV, I'm confident you'll be happy with it.

The Year's Greatest Disappointment At 7 a
3/5

m. , I turned on the television. My day has been brightened. When I got home from work the next day, I discovered that the TV had Screen Flickers and black lines across it, indicating that it was a factory defect. br>I was extremely dissatisfied with this purchase because I paid $3000 for it and was unable to properly check if the item was in fact functional. SONY is speaking with you-br>br> MY Welcome screen (the first picture you see when turning on the TV for the first time) has dead pixel lines across the screen and the right screen flickers constantly, so please improve your quality control. Unhappy to the core. I'm sorry, but you've lost my business. Good- Bye. br>br>Last year, I had A8H and was very happy with it, but it was missing two things. I already had 1HDMI, so I decided to upgrade to this one and only get 3. 3k was a letdown. SONY will not be moving to another company, most likely Samsung.
