Is it possible to watch videos from a hard drive that is connected via USB?

Yes, absolutely! Simply connect the hard drive to the Roku Media Player app, which can be found on the Home screen. I hope this information is useful. TCL Customer Support, thank you very much.

Is it possible to mount this on a vesa stand for a desk top?

Yes, absolutely! You simply need to ensure that the desktop VESA stand supports a VESA mounting pattern of 200mm x 200mm. TCL Customer Support, thank you very much.

Only 60 hertz is displayed by Windows for this screen, but tcl claims 120 hertz. What is the true refresh rate of your system?

THE FACTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: Because the human eye can only handle around 25 Hz, 60 to 120 Hz will never be seen in the first place. You simply won't, especially considering that IF, and this is a big IF, you have a Monitor that will actually refresh at that rate when gaming, you aren't paying that much attention anyway. Oh SURE, it sounds cool and technical to most people, but in reality it is just DOUBLE SPEAK. FACT is, I own this monitor and have it connected to a Xbox One S, 4K Fire Cube, and a Bose CineMate 120, and it is VERY Impressive and about as far as the Xbox One S or even the Xbox Series S OR X can be pushed. I could go over HDR10, Dolby Vision, and Atmos in detail, but I'm not going to. ENOUGH SAID, THIS IS AN EXCELLENT TV FOR GAMING AND STREAMIN'!

You've come to the right place, gamers
5/5

For the money, I can't believe what I'm seeing. I ordered two of these for my desk (don't laugh; I have a large desk) with the expectation of returning them. I was convinced they wouldn't be able to run 4k clearly 3 feet away from my face while maintaining low latency at 60Hz 4: 4, and produce great color in a dark room with deep enough blacks. I've never been so delighted to be proven incorrect. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The only issue I'm having right now is finding a display port to HDMI adapter or cable that can support 4k@60Hz, 4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4:4 HDR and HDMI 2 are included in the set of four. But that isn't the TV's fault. Is it something you'd use for photo editing or to watch movies with perfect color and contrast? Of course not, but you'll have a hard time finding anything comparable in this price range. I've attached some photos taken with my Gs9 at a resolution of 4032x2268 pixels for your viewing pleasure, though Amazon may compress them. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: I've had these for almost two months now and I'm still very happy with them. The panels in both sets weren't exactly the same color, but that's to be expected. I had to re-calibrate them, but they now appear to be nearly identical. It shouldn't be a problem unless you get two people to sit next to each other like I did. The majority of the time, my office is dimly lit, so these settings are ideal for me. Backlight 75, Brightness 50, Contrast 100, Color 50, Tint 0; Picture mode Normal; Backlight 75; Brightness 50; Contrast 100; Color 50; Tint 0; Picture mode Normal; Backlight 75 br>br>Edited on September 21st, 2019: I figured I'd keep this post up to date because both displays are still up and running. There were no problems at all. My purchase continues to bring me joy. These are true 4K displays that perform admirably in gaming. They won't compete with gaming displays, as one of the comments stated, and I've had overpriced small gaming monitors in the past. I'd rather play on this, and it's held up to hundreds of hours of gaming with no problems; it's extremely sharp, and it works well as a monitor. It is necessary to calibrate your experience if you have had a different one. It took me a few hours to get these dialed in, but it was well worth it! br>br>Edited on March 16th, 21: A couple of days ago, one of my panels became dim. I'm keeping the rating because I've spent thousands of hours working on these panels, and one of them slid off my desk and into a cabinet behind it a few months ago. To replace it, I'm going to buy a 2021 model. When it arrives and I have it next to my other 2018 model, I'll write a review there.

If you want to use VESA mounting or have a warranty, the 43S425 is not the right choice
3/5

For the 100x100 VESA MIS part D, this product uses M6 threading rather than the required M4. As a result, it's incompatible with almost every VESA mounting system on the market. TCL refused to provide any adapter to make this product compatible when I contacted them about the problem, claiming "there are no standards. " "br>br>TCL does not stand behind their products or care about their reputation, and their customer service is uninterested in finding solutions for you and frequently does not understand your problem. br>br>Before contacting TCL, their website listed the product as M4 100x100, but if you downloaded the user manual, it correctly identifies the 43" version of the S425 series as using M6 screws in a 100x100 layout. Instead of dealing with the incompatibility with standards, they have now updated their website's specification page. If you plan to use a wall mount or another VESA compatible mounting system, stay away from the 43" 43S425 at all costs. br>br>I bought two of these, but discovered after opening the first one that I wouldn't be able to use it, so I haven't even turned on either one, so I can't comment on the other features or picture quality because the lack of standard mounting specifications was a deal-breaker for me. For me, it was a deal breaker. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> When I opened the second of two TVs I ordered, I discovered that the screen was cracked on the inside, and TCL refused to repair it under warranty. TCL is something to stay away from.

The mind is blown
5/5

Let me begin by saying that when I first considered purchasing this television, I was extremely skeptical. What do I mean by TCL? For that price, it can't possibly be that good, can it? For under $300, you can get a 43" 4k UHD HDR TV! I wasn't sure if I wanted to waste my time watching this TV after reading mixed reviews. Because I own an Xbox One X, I needed a low-cost 4K television. After reading somewhere that TCL is the official Call of Duty tv for gaming tournaments, I decided to take a chance. And I'm still trying to think of something I don't like about this show! This is an amazing photo! I think these are the best TV speakers I've ever heard, and gaming in 4K on them is incredible! Even the Roku feature on this site is fantastic! The Roku feature is lightning fast and has no lag! So yeah. Go ahead and do it if you're thinking about it. You will not be dissatisfied with your purchase. Take it from a 36-year-old gamer who is extremely particular about his gaming display. This television will appeal to you.

For a 4K HDR Windows 10 monitor, this is an excellent choice
5/5

I purchased two of these, and they have been well received by all. We've got them hooked up to RTX 2080 cards, and after some fiddling, they're up and running. Here's what we used to get everything running smoothly: br>br>1) Using the Club3D CAC-HDMI cable, connect the TV to the card via displayport. DisplayPort Active 1080 1. HDMI 2 to 4 HDR Adapter, version 0b br>2) Instead of selecting a computer as the TV input, select a 'game console. ' The TV and Windows were forced to negotiate HDMI, color, and HDR options as a result of this. br>3) Set the sharpness to 0 in the display settings. br>4) In the NVidia control panel, select YCbCr422 as the output color format and apply. If it doesn't work the first time, try again. br>5) In the NVidia control panel, change the 'Output color depth' to 12 bpc and save. Rep this step as necessary until it works. br>br>At this point, enabling the 'HDR and WCG' option in the display settings causes the HDR notification on the TV to appear and the HDR settings for the input to be enabled. Desktop mode washes out the colors, so don't use it. HDR is enabled in both Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey, according to our tests. When playing, I prefer to use the 'Bright HDR' option in the TV settings. br>br>We have a crisp picture on the desktop and in games with this setup. This, as well as Rift, is connected to one of the computers. Because of the DisplayPort adapter, I was able to use my HDMI port for the Rift. Finally, once I switched the HDMI mode to 2, the TV worked flawlessly with an original PS4 and HDR. In the TV's settings, set it to 0 (zero).
