We have an Avermedia C027 capture card in our church computer and needed to start live streaming like the rest of the congregation. We wanted to be able to show the slides as well as the camera, so we used the HDMI input. The Tripp-style B126 Lite- Because the 004 has an HDMI monitor output, I first purchased an HDMI to component adapter, but it turns out that the component capture is shared with the HDMI capture on this card, so I had to use either s-video or component capture. We bought the HDMI to composite adapter because it was the only one available at Fry's. It worked fine, but it ruined a few slides. I was debating whether to spend more money on a new HDMI capture card or to try s- video. We chose the latter because we are a small church on a tight budget. What a difference there is between the two. It appears to be much cleaner, with better colors and sharper text. It has made me very happy. br>br>I purchased this adapter because it has a male plug rather than a female plug, which would require a male-to-male adapter. We didn't need the male cable in between because the computer is only about 2 feet from the switch box and the HDMI cable covers the distance. I believe that a shorter s-word is preferable. Signal integrity is also improved by using a video cable. The only issue I had was that the small plastic alignment pin was too large for the female connector on the capture card cable, but that was easily fixed with needle nose pliers. Red colors bleed off to the side. As you can see in my photos, the converted signal's red bleeds off to the side. I tried 480p, 720p, and 1080p output from my device, and my old Sony CRT TV had the same problem. To make sure it wasn't my TV, I converted the 480i svideo signal to HDMI with my Retrotink2X and connected it to my 75-inch Vizio. Unfortunately, both PAL and NTSC versions of the game had the same issue with red colors bleeding to the side. br>br>It would be a decent little device for the money if it weren't for that. I didn't try 1080i because it was too expensive. 720p, 1080p, and 480p 60hz signals, on the other hand, converted flawlessly. The image is slightly cropped on the left and right sides in all resolutions, just enough to fill the entire 4:3 aspect ratio horizontally. There are three displays available. I would have preferred to see a letterbox signal instead, but it's not bad. br>br>However, because of the red bleeding, I'm returning it and trying a different brand instead.

This is fantastic! I'd been trying for a long time to copy videos from one TIVO to another using a Svideo cable while the original TIVO was connected to my TV via HDMI. When the originating TIVO didn't get the expected HDMI handshake in return, it refused to send signals to the TV. So now I use an HDMI splitter to send one HDMI cable to the TV and the other to this converter, and I can record on any device that accepts them using a Svideo plus stereo input. br>I can also copy anything that appears on my computer screen now. I can use any number of Svideo capture devices and record the output on my TIVO or another computer because I can route the computer's output to a HDMI cable. br>I'm in hog-wash mode right now. Now is the time to rejoice!.
