I recently bought a subwoofer to go with a sound bar, and I can tell you that the subwoofer is terrible. It's muddy and muffled, especially if you're using it on a carpeted floor. There are no audio controls for subwoofer level or tone control, which is extremely disappointing. An enormous letdown
The Roku speakers and soundbar can and will work with the subwoofer. In order to use the subwoofer, you must have at least one audio device (wireless speakers or soundbar).
Yes, Roku TVs and soundbars are compatible with subwoofers. The streamers, not so much.
The sound is much better, deeper, and richer now that I've added the subwoofer to my soundbar. Although it does not compare to top-of-the-line sound systems in terms of quality, it is excellent value for money. It's also simple to set up and works well with other programs. The wireless surround speakers are also on my wish list.

Unfortunately, when used in conjunction with the ROKU soundbar, the soundbar's clear voices and high notes become muddy and unnatural. It had progressed to the point where I assumed it was faulty and returned it, only to discover the next one was just as muddy. I'll buy it again if ROKU adds an EQ feature to the soundbar's software. The muddiness of the voices was not improved by changing the BASS and clear voice settings. I tried everything I could think of, but it didn't work. This was something I was really hoping would work out. If you want the 10-day trial, make sure to purchase the official ROKU version. bump of one inch Wal-Mart's rip-off By comparison, Mart (Onn) is a shambles.
This is a very straightforward setup. However, a more advanced setup with equalization should be available. There are two things to keep in mind. 1. br>br> Bass appeals to a wide range of people.
2. Each person has a unique space with unique acoustics. br>br>The default settings were far too muddy for me. To make the dialog understandable, I had to set the Sub for reduced bass and enable speech clarity. An equalizer (EQ) would go a long way toward allowing the user to tailor the sound to their specific environment and preferences. br>br>I can't imagine anyone thinking this sounded great right out of the box. Sound quality is being sacrificed in favor of convenience.
Being a self-sufficient individual admitted audiophile, former professional musician, and studio recording and live sound expert: The purchase of this subwoofer is a no-brainer. After purchasing one, I was so impressed with the ease of setup, as well as the unit's quality and power, that I bought three more for each of my Roku televisions. At this price point, I've rarely been so pleasantly surprised by such high quality in both form and function. I've had subwoofers costing two to three times as much that couldn't compare to this one. Full- Price is well worth it, and if you come across a bargain, take advantage of it. If there is a discount or a special offer, take advantage of it right away.
The soundbar is fantastic in every way; it's easy to set up and, of course, has all of the streaming options built right in (as with any other Roku streaming device/TV); it also has weight, which is unusual for soundbars. br>Normally, I would have stopped with the Roku Soundbar Pro because it is truly amazing on its own, but we enjoy watching movies and other media. As a result, I made the decision to purchase a Roku Subwoofer. br>Again, make sure you get the Real Roku Subwoofer in the Blue Box, not the ONN version in the Orange Box (there's a HUGE difference)br>This Bad Boy weighs over 20 pounds right out of the box! Like I said above, I like the weight of these unlike so many others that you can move with your foot lol This Roku Subwoofer is 100% LEGIT! It's a breeze to get everything set up. Simply plug it in and follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to your Bluetooth device. YOU WILL KNOW IMMEDIATELY WHEN IT FIRST CONNECTS TO YOUR ROKU TV (OR, in my case, MY ROKU SOUNDBAR PRO)! The initial BOOM will shake the room you're in, as well as anyone else nearby! That first BOOM after connecting put a big ol' grin on my face, and in my opinion, hearing/feeling that was worth $160! But that's only the beginning!br>As good as the soundbar is, this Roku Subwoofer takes it to another level! If you enjoy movies, this is the place to be. Go the extra mile with this Roku Subwoofer because it makes a huge difference! Notes on the side: When using YouTube, Spotify, Pandora, and other similar services. and/or music channels on TV, the Soundbar and Subwoofer combination, of course, sounds fantastic! br>To summarize, there are a lot of "surround sound sets" that are fine, but Roku has GREAT products that will rival ANY top-of-the-line set-up. You'll save hundreds of dollars if you use these tips! br>I hope this helps you make a decision because I read a lot of reviews on different soundbar sets. ups, and Roku has made my life so much easier! BLUE BOX BLUE BOX BLUE BOX BLUE BOX BLUE BOX BL NOT THE "ONN" VERSION IN THE ORANGE BOX (I'm still perplexed as to why Roku allowed their logo to appear on that?.
Except for the annoying popping sound we hear during playback, the bass on this subwoofer is incredible. It would be a great addition to my Roku audio. The popping is so distracting that it's not worth buying this device; we hear it all the time, but it's more noticeable on 4k HDR 5. 1 media. Roku support has not been very helpful, so I would not recommend purchasing this device.
I had my doubts about the sound bar's quality. Would streaming suffer as a result of this, or would the sound bar be adequate? I was blown away by the high quality of both. On a side note, I also added the wireless subwoofer; in my previous experience, wireless subwoofers often produce "noise. " These two items complement each other beautifully, communicating and autotuning. The sound is crisp and clear. I would strongly advise purchasing a sound bar, subwoofer, or both.
Assemble the foundation. Even when I used the sound controls to turn off the base and increase speech characteristics, it was still difficult to understand the speech. I went back to the factory settings on the speaker. There was still an issue. I turned off the subwoofer and, as if by magic, I was able to hear what was being said again. The box is still in my possession. A return label has been printed. I'll return it the next day.
It adds a ton of bass to your system. The only flaw with the subwoofer is that the bottom speaker is completely exposed. Not a big deal normally, but I have a toddler who destroys everything, and I'm afraid I'll turn around and find the unit toppled over with the speaker ripped out. br>br>In the end, however, I would recommend less expensive options. I began with just the soundbar and gradually added this. Now that the sound is muffled and mediocre, I'm going to have to add the satellite speakers as well. For half the price of all the Roku sound bits, I could have gotten a complete setup.
