Questions & Answers

How does a refurbished model differ from the original?

A new model includes everything that a used model would have. You will need the remote, the dongle, the power cord, and the plug. I found the code to be useful.

Do you think it will fit on a 46" Samsung TV? Is it not a 4K TV?

It is compatible with any model of tv so long as it has a hdmi port. There is a cheaper model for 1080 TVs, however, the 4K unit has a better wifi system

A 4K firestick can only be used with 4K televisions?

THE SHORT ANSWER TO THE QUESTION IS There are two factors for resolution and frame rate on your TV, so it will play at the maximum number of lines and FPS you have. A bluray (1080p or higher resolution) can be played on a smaller or older 720p TV, just as a bluray, or a video game. This will work but will result in a decrease in hourly quality. The "weakest link in the chain" or the funnel effect is what is meant by this. Water can only travel as fast as it fits through the narrowest pipe. Simply set the TV to the highest quality and max frames per second that your TV is capable of producing in the bluray player.

What if you want to use a projector with this?

Using a HDMI to RCA converter is what I did for my little girl's television if your projector does not have HDMI

It's worth every penny to upgrade! NEW 4K FIRESTICK! FLAWLESS REFURBISHED There was nothing in the box, but what a brand new 4k Firestick would come with as well
5/5

Each item in the box came in its original packaging. The box itself was very well packed. In aftermarket packaging, the item appears to be brand new! It has been a good experience for me with the second generation firestick. Having decided that the upgrade was worth the upgrade, the new 4k firestick made me want to river dance on my 2nd gen firestick before lighting it on fire. It was fast and there was no lag or stutter when scrolling through the It takes only a few minutes to set up. As I was using my 2nd gen firestick, I also loaded Kodi up and tested and compared all of the same content. I can easily play media and watch videos more quickly without buffering and stuttering like I used to on I was unable to watch some streams and the playback was continuously buffered and interrupted at random on my old Firestick. With my new 4K stick, I do not have to worry about those problems even on content my old firestick struggled to handle. Its 4k playback is flawless, and I have no issues. All in all, I am extremely happy. Firesticks are so outdated that I'd never think about going back to them. Similarly, I have installed an Ethernet adapter on my second generation 4k firestick (I also used one with the first version). All the features work great, and there does not appear to be any heat issues like there were with the 2nd generation stick. Buying a new stick can be a difficult decision if you have the 2nd generation stick. Put it into practice! You can also get a refurb one like I did if you want to save a few dollars.

It works perfectly and is easy to set up
5/5

I bought two Firestick 4K refurbished products. Both products work great and were very easy to set up, too. All the items that are included with the new product are also included in the refurbished product A discount Amazon was offering Prime members ($26) allowed me to get this. The cost is $99 plus tax per item). It is a great deal for a quality product. I also have a Roku Express and feel this one delivers not only better picture quality (on my 1080p TV), but it comes with an Alexa remote which Roku does not offer.

It's really amazing how advanced technology has become even with my older 55" without smart features
5/5

I used this Fire Stick for the first time. With the addition of voice features and Bluetooth capabilities on a TV that was too old to have these features, this must be The purchase was well worth it.

The remote does not work, so return to the computer
3/5

After turning it on, wait two minutes before moving the remote. Neither setup nor a configuration was done. I tried new batteries, but they didn't work. Because of the lack of a remote, no Alexa was available. I purchased the not refurbished one just in case, as I love my Echo that I also received I purchased refurbished items 15 years ago and the item failed for the second time.

For the fourth time, I have a FireTV and I really enjoy it! This is in perfect condition and looks new, with just a The past few years I've owned both ROKU and Android boxes and am now switching over to Amazon Fire In my opinion, when given a choice, you should buy fireTV without a second thought since it is hands down the best. 2021 and I still can't control my TV with my voice! There is nothing more to say than the title
3/5

One very basic and simple reason led me to purchase this product I want to voice control my TV, so that when I say the name of the TV, it turns on In the event that it is turned on, it will keep the last known input while turning on the TV. You wouldn't expect a hands-free device with other features like changing inputs and volume, but you would expect it to have a button for switching In theory, the latest model (granted refurbished) of the Fire TV product would easily support the free "Power On TV and don't switch inputs" feature. Unfortunately, you are completely incorrect. True to its name, Fire TV's command for this one simple thing does not work at all. This is a smart TV that is as close to the newest model as you can reasonably expect, so you would think that Fire TV and Alexa would integrate seamlessly with it. However, I am having unexpected trouble integrating the Fire TV and Alexa with my TV. To be fair, I was able to get the "Power On TV" command to work I was also able to get the "Enter" command to work. Despite the fact that it was a little confusing in itself, it was free The one thing that I don't like is that no matter what settings I use, it automatically switches to Fire TV Home. I absolutely hated this experience and it defeated the whole reason for me purchasing this product in the first place I truly needed it alone for this. I cannot manually turn on the smart TV if I have to switch back to the previous input (before "Power Off") using the voice button on the Fire TV remote. Otherwise, I won't be able to turn it on at all. If you use the 'Power' button on the remote, selecting the desired content would be twice as easy. As I described in my last post, below are the steps I took to get my hands on Just for fairness' sake, give the 'Power' control of the TV setup free of charge. 1 .

To ensure HDMI compatibility, I ensured My smart TV was set up to accept CEC signals. Steps for changing the TV settings will probably vary depending on the model or brand of your TV, but in my case I found that I had to change them in the Settings section. Please don't exceed In the All Settings section, click Please don't exceed The connection Please don't exceed How to Set Up a Device Connection Please don't exceed The SIMPLLINK (HDMI-based) connection Turn on the CEC (Computerized Energy Conversion) This option seems to be hidden under so many settings menus. I have no idea why it is hidden, but I am hoping other smart TV models have a simpler process. 3.
Plugging the Fire TV stick into one of the HDMI inputs on my smart TV (HDMI 3) and connecting the other end of the cable to a power source completed the process. 1. 2. 3. The HDMI 3 port was selected as soon as I powered up my TV. Using Alexa, I was able to set up the Fire TV in just five minutes with the latest software. 4 *br My Alexa account received a notification that my Fire TV device had been added, but I went into my Alexa app and added the new device to the same group as the Echo that I wanted to use to voice control my Fire TV. Furthermore, I verified that I had enabled the Fire TV skill. 5 * v. *br I realized that saying things like "Alexa, turn the TV on or off" or "Alexa, turn Fire TV on/off" did nothing for the Echo Dot. Additionally, I confirmed that both my Fire TV and Echo were added to the same group in the Alexa app, but nothing seems to work.
6. Having figured out it, I realized I had been given a second device. It was named something similar to "----My name----" and it was added to my list of devices. I already own a prior model from a few years ago, so this is his second Fire TV. " On the app's home screen was an icon of a TV. 6.
After looking online for suggestions, I navigated to the settings in my Alexa app and clicked on 'Settings - Alexa Services' Please don't exceed I'm interested in TV and movies Watch this video to learn more Please don't exceed An example of Fire TV is Please don't exceed Then I had to select 'Link or manage Devices' and then the device was linked to my Echo. As an experiment, I used my Echo to test this voice command. I said "Turn on this device" and it worked like a charm The "on/off" switch. seemed to work perfectly fine, so I renamed my device and added it to the same group that I had my Echo in. Detailed paragraph 9. In the future I will be able to name my smart TV, so I can control it by name. There is only one caveat with the above steps Turning on the TV will always switch the input to Home, regardless of how many times you turn the knob. In spite of this, I wanted to go over the entire process I used to get my hands on The power is controlled by my smart TV without any fees. But it brought with it the greatest problem I struggled with, which was how to get Fire TV not to switch inputs back to the home input (HDMI 3) when I turned it on. I followed the below steps to get it this way, in an attempt to set it up. 1 .

On my smart TV, I went to the Fire TV Home (HDMI 3). 3.
I went to 'Equipment Control - Setup' on my Fire TV by clicking on 'Settings' at the top right. Please don't exceed This page allows you to manage your equipment. 1. 2. 3. Then I selected 'Fire TV' under 'Manage Equipment' and chose 'HDMI 1', as I wanted it to automatically switch to this input once the TV was on. As you can see, HDMI 3 was the Fire TV Home input in my case, and I did not want to automatically select it. According to the tooltip for this option, we can choose what input we want to switch to for Fire TV watching. I thought that would be a reasonable option to choose. 4 *br But when I tried on the hands, I found that they were not comfortable As soon as I clicked on "free power on TV, it completely ignored the setting and navigated back to Fire TV Home. Unfortunately, that setting didn't seem to work as I wanted it to. As it turns out, it didn't seem to apply any changes to anything, which was rather surprising. 5 * v. *br Under the Manage Equipment page, I went to "Advanced Settings" and found that the following dialog box appears. Please don't exceed I selected 'TV Default' for the 'Power On Input' so that the TV will only turn on, and the Home Input (HDMI 3) will not automatically switch back. It seems to me that this would be a good idea. The *br6. This turned out to be an even worse alternative, as it actually broke some of the things that were working before. Thus, I asked Alexa to turn on my device when I used this voice command " Alexa, turn on my device" It was able to shut down my smart TV, but wasn't able to start it up again after it turned it off. Ask Alexa to turn on my device, saying 'Alexa, turn on my device' The "on" option didn't seem to have any effect As a result of my changes to the settings as per the above instructions, the Alexa integration with Fire TV failed. Of course, you could still turn on a Fire TV by pressing the power button on the remote stick. In addition, I was able to have Echo respond to my voice command if I depressed the microphone button on the Fire TV remote once, released it, and repeated my voice command. However, if that were the case, "hands-on" would no longer be useful It would be easier to turn on my smart TV if I could use the voice button without having to mess with the remote all the time. In any case, wouldn't it be easier to just press the power button that sits next to the voice button if I am reaching to press the voice button? By doing so, I would be able to turn on the smart TV without having to speak commands. Unfortunately, that would mean I would have to start at square one again. It turns out that not being able to turn on the TV and have its last input remain on is the last of my problems however, as I quickly discovered. During that time, I also realized that trying to switch inputs hand-in-hand with the mouse was not a good idea It did not work with free as well. To access HDMI1 on a <name of device> device, for example, tell Alexa to go to HDMI 1. You can tell Alexa to go home on a particular device by saying "Alexa, go home on X" As an example, below is a command I tested out with my Echo This is me Alexa (on Echo) "Alexa, switch to HDMI 2. " It's not quite clear what went wrong I don't know what I should do now".

Thanks Taking the Fire TV remote into my hands and clicking the microphone button again, I was able to repeat the same command. Oh well, at least that worked, but for some reason when I tried again and used my hands to repeat that, I had no luck. No charge. While it's still a pretty glaring defect, it's not as bad as the fact that I can't use my Fire TV stick for the one thing I got To just turn on my dang smart TV, I just have to press a button No charge. The product has clearly failed to meet my relatively simple expectations. When I received it, it did not match my Not sure if I will be spending any money on an IR blaster. Though I do know I won't have an Alexa product to access, it won't be a Google Assistant. Streaming Netflix and other features are really helpful as well and it is a shame it is not available in the app. The reality is that all the other features of this device are rendered essentially meaningless if it cannot deliver a simple voice command in 2021. For the final part, in my opinion, I would like to point out that the 4K Fire TV stick (refurbished or otherwise) does not integrate well with my LG smart TV Alexa commands like "Alexa, switch to the input and the name" will find the input The statements are not working. This command will display the name of your television Sadly, the "on/off" function never works, instead switching to the Fire TV Home input every time, which is particularly annoying when you use the TV primarily to play games. In order to meet this basic need, I most likely would choose a wireless router I would strongly recommend using the Alexa app to control the IR blaster rather than Fire TV, since it does not seem to be a good tool for this. Alexa's own voice control and integration with the Fire TV Home is clearly broken in some respects, and Fire TV Home settings don't always behave as you would expect them to. As mentioned above, I will be returning this product since I didn't find it to be a good fit for me. However, if you are not concerned with the features that were mentioned, it may be a good fit for others.
