Boxes like this remanufactured box do the same job as brand new ones. was able to connect this after just a few minutes on the phone with DirecTV and now I have directv installed in my RV with no need for WiFi to watch TV out in the wilderness.
It worked perfectly after the replacement box was installed. I learned that Direct TV had caused the problem! It was Direct TV's desire to upgrade me to their new system at a much higher cost. After several calls and threats of disconnecting, they finally turned on the new box after several attempts. There are no problems at the moment.
Since my Directv Satellite Receiver is a purchase and not a lease, I spent less than a month on it. Due to the fact that I have been a good customer for 15 years, I did not get charged with any extra fees or have to renew my contract with Directv. Changing this receiver out with my old broken one was easier than I thought. The activation process went smoothly, so I just called Directv.
Initially, I was a bit concerned that Directv would not activate this box, but it did- I have no problem with that. If your box comes with a new card number, be sure to give them the one on the box, not the one in.
Originally, it was a DirectTV receiver leased by me. I registered anyway, but they did not.
Direct TV provided an access card after I called. The receiver has been received. The access card was obtained over the phone from Direct TV. An activation was unable to be accomplished because the receiver was active on 3 Direct TV accounts. A return was required. According to them, for this to be successful they must request the Receiver ID first and verify it is not attached to an account over the phone.
It was still locked to a previous account and never required to be returned because of receiver problems. When I contacted DTV to set it up, they told me that it was still locked to a previous account. The receiver is not able to be activated and used.
I bought it from these guys. Directv says I bought one of these from these guys, but they won't activate it because it was a leased unit that should have been returned. Almost as if they didn't want to be paid, I offered to pay.
