I'm really happy I can even find a DVD player or VCR nowadays! My first impressions of this product were how fast it arrived and how carefully it was packaged. As I read previous reviews, I was expecting it would not come with a remote, however since it was the same brand and model as the one I already owned, my Panasonic universal remote worked just fine. I can now watch my old school VHS tapes again.
We have a few old VHS movies we want to watch during shut in. We had a great time the first week, but then we experienced VHS player problems. The movie we just watched wouldn't play, so the player kept shutting off. When we were frustrated, we took it to a local repair shop that was open, and they replaced a cracked gear. Our warranty on the repair is 50 years, but we had to pay an extra $60 for it.
Our first impression of the product was that it was I'm ashamed of the person who let this product slip through the cracks because the product was breaking, there was no remote. In order to power it up, we had to push the button so far back that we couldn't reach it to push it to power it up.
I'm pretty happy with how this VCR player works. Even though the box arrived very damaged, the packaging was so good, that there were no dents or dings to be found on the machine. The VHS tape sorter is great for going through dozens of family videos!.
As the tape side did not play well on the VCR, it is likely that it had not been tested The bottom of the picture was a mess of artifacts, and the middle was a weird colored stripe. There was no difference between playback of cassettes we've played in the past. I tried to eject the 3rd tape, but it got caught in the machine during ejection. The tape is now complete, so I won't do it In addition to not recording, it had stopped recording right after the timer started, and shut itself off after that. Because the DVD side kept skipping and would not play, the unit could not have been tested before being delivered. I returned it within the return window, however, so I got my money back from customer service and was given a return label to ship it back.
To remind the seller of getting the remote and (probably something else I have made a mistake) it does not control the volume, we have to use the TV remote. There is no problem with the VHS or DVD player, however.
A VCR/DVD combo set arrived on time in good condition and included a remote control as promised.
version from In addition to this VCR DVD player/recorder I own for decades, I purchased the system that goes with it. A few years ago, my old VCR no longer played VCRs. I recently discovered that my DVD player no longer worked. It is not possible to find a place near me that repairs originals. I was fortunate to come across this! I like it a lot.
