I'm not sure, but the 7004 fits my needs. It has proven to be extremely beneficial.

Will this work with a dual-DVD player from RCA?

I'm not sure, but it works perfectly on my Sylvania dual-DVD player.

Is it compatible with any DC device, or is it only compatible with the DVD that arrived in the mail?

To be safe, I'd only use it for the DVD in the mail as advertised, as each device uses different ports, watts/volts, and so on.

Modifications are required to make it fit

I tried several ports on two different vehicles and found that the metal brackets on the side are too wide to fit into the vehicle's 12 V port. I was offered a replacement when I called, but I needed to use it the next day. The man stated that he has received several complaints about the brackets being too wide, and that buyers should use pliers to force them to fit. It fit into the port after I did that.

The cord that came with our DVD player was of poor quality, just like the reviews I read before buying it. Where the cord exited the adapter and entered the car power socket, the wires became exposed. And, as others have mentioned in reviews, the original cord was too short; this one appears to be heavier duty and longer. Furthermore, we discovered that it works with our older 7"DVD player (we have two kids watching movies side by side, the older one with headphones to avoid dualing sound), which previously only had a 110 volt plug and required an inverter to charge in the car. The inverter has a built-in cooling fan, which has always irritated us because it is quite noisy. We like this new car charger so much that we're going to get a second one so we don't have to use the inverter anymore.

It's the ideal substitute. My children are a bunch of brats. Monkeys are climbing into my car on their own volition. I'm kicking everything I can get my hands on. For a year, this stood up to dozens of unintentional kicks and bumps. I liked it so much that I bought it twice; it lasts about a year with my savages. For $8- It was well worth the money.

Fantastic Substitute! I attempted to contact Sylvania, the company from which we purchased our portable DVD player, to request a replacement cord after the original broke while being removed from the cigarette lighter

They were unable to replace it, so I turned to Amazon, where I discovered this one. It said our player's exact model was supported. It's a cinch to use. It hasn't come apart, and it's a lot longer than our old cord, which is fantastic!.

I've purchased two of these because the original cord that came with our portable DVD player broke within a month of purchase due to my son putting it in and out of the cigarette lighter

This one is better than the one that came with the player in terms of value and durability. My son left it hanging out of the car and it dragged on the ground while driving, causing the part that goes into the lighter to fall off, so we had to buy another.

This cord is a great replacement for the original auto cord that came with our Sylvania Dual Screen DVD player (model sdvd8706)

The first one was flimsy and had come loose from the car outlet plug. This replacement is much thicker and more durable than the original, and it's about the same length. I was concerned at first because our portable Sylvania DVD player didn't appear on the list, but it is a perfect match for the sdvd8706.
