Questions & Answers

IS IT NTSC COMPATIBLE FOR USE IN THE USA?

Only for use with ntsc in the United States or other countries using the same television system and digital atsc. Power supply: 120 volts, 60 Hz

Will this record directly from the cable box and switch the channel for a pre-planned event?

If you have Cox Communications as your cable provider, it won't work.

Has anyone tried recording from a camcorder using the dv input? Is that something you've tried before?

YES! It's something I've done with my Hi-Def camera before. There are eight videotapes. Connecting the video camera's output to the DVD recorder's input was a piece of cake. I forgot to select the source setting the first time I tried, so I ended up with a small TV recording, but once I fixed that, everything went smoothly.

Is there a 3d comb filter on the ez28 that can improve the look of laser disc video from an input source? 4: Is it possible to keep the letterbox? Stretching or watching 3 videos?

No, there isn't a filter on it, and the resolution is still set to 4:3. 3 However, depending on your television, you can change it.

Get them while they're still available
5/5

I've never purchased a used item from Amazon Dot Com before. I would always buy new in any other situation, especially if it was an electronic item. These DVD Recorders, however, are no longer available in new models. The one I purchased is a carbon copy of the one I've been using for years - that began to act up at some point. This unit was listed as having been built in 2004, but it was actually built in 2009 - which I am extremely grateful for. Although the packaging was unsatisfactory, the company delivered on their promises. I'd tell others about this seller.

Be on the lookout! Let me start by saying that DVRs are scarce
3/5

This brand is fantastic when it works. The computerized control software, on the other hand, is still in its infancy and frequently fails. I've had three of them, and they've all caused me problems. br>br>Panasonic has a software update that fixes it, but two of mine have now permanently crashed. We don't do much recording, and they won't play blue ray disks, so I'll just hope my last one survives. If anyone knows of a suitable substitute, please let me know. Thanks.

The image quality is excellent, but the software is lacking
3/5

This unit was purchased to replace a DMR-2000 that had failed. ES15. I didn't think it was worth fixing the ES15 because it still had the old analog television tuner. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the DMR-100. I chose the EZ28K because I thought it would be a natural progression from the ES15's excellent features. br> Despite the fact that the DMR- Although the video quality on EZ28K is excellent, the editing features have taken a significant step backwards (e. g. , the ability to cut and paste). The phrase list, which was a huge time saver on the ES15, isn't present on the EZ28, so you'll have to start over every time you record). This was a great feature on the DS15 because it allowed you to keep track of sequential disc numbering, favorite show names (just add episode number), and other information without having to carry around a bunch of clipboards. Unlike the ES15, you can't even go back to edit because the cursor overwrites with blanks. br> The preview window for the menu title text has also vanished, making it impossible to predict where your text string will wrap (unless you manually count the characters, it will usually wrap in the middle of a word, which is ugly). br> I can't seem to get any of my previously-purchased items to work. I recorded DVD RWs to play on the EZ28 (they played fine on my PCs), so I'll need to buy another DVD player if I want to keep using them in my living room. I guess I'll have to rely on DVD R for now. DVD- The EZ28 has a lot of RAM. br> However, there is one caveat to using DVD-ROMs. The EZ28's RAM is as follows: You'll have to re-enter all of your information. each DVD should be formatted- Even if it was previously formatted on a Panasonic recorder like the ES15, format the RAM disc on the EZ28 before using it. Prepare yourself for a lot of frustration if you don't. This was a difficult lesson for me to learn. br> There are other problems (e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. slow tuner), but for the time being (I've only had the unit for a few days), the above will suffice. I'm hoping Panasonic will release a firmware update (you'll need to burn a CD from a download on Panasonic's website) to fix everything. Panasonic has a history of producing excellent products, so it's difficult for me to believe they'd dump garbage on their customers. br> Keep in mind that the video on the EZ28 is excellent. In fact, the 4-person team The hour record mode is so good that it's difficult to tell the difference between 2- and 3-hour recordings. hour mode (doesn't take up as much space as you think). You'll be happy with this DVD recorder if you can live with the limitations listed above (assuming the unit lasts). br> To summarize: Wonderful hardware with unfinished software (Panasonic, please do the right thing and upgrade the EZ28 user interface to make it as good as the old ES15). )br>br>Note: )br>br> Obtainable for download D2- has been installed as a firmware upgrade. 377 (as far as I can tell, there is no difference in operation). br>Support the following website: [.

DMR- EZ28K DVD Recorder is a DVD recorder that can record up to 28 hours of video
4/5

This unit has only been with me for a week. and I'm still not sure what's going on. The recorder appears to work well, but the instruction book appears to have been written for someone with a lot of DVD recording experience, which I don't have; the recorder has a lot of functions, and the manual does a poor job of explaining how to use them. This machine is in desperate need of a "Dummies Guide"! If you're new to using a DVD recorder, like me, I'd recommend finding a nearby friend who can assist you first. br>br>Also, the remote control looks very similar to the one I use with my DMP- BD60 Blu- ray player, and they appear to be interfering with one another - Trying to turn one unit on with the remote causes the other unit to turn off, etc. As a result, I have to control each unit manually most of the time. br>br>The quality of the recordings I've made so far is impressive; I'm very happy with that aspect of this machine. It is VERY slow to start up and/or shut down, but patience, as they say, is a virtue.

Closed Captioning is supported via HDMI! I purchased the Panasonic DMR-XXXXXXXXXXXXXX Because one reviewer mentioned that it could do Closed Caption over the HDMI cable, I went with the EZ28K DVD Recorder with 1080p Upconversion
4/5

It does! However, I had some difficulties getting it to work. To begin, go to the recorder's "Display settings" and turn on closed captioning and set the timer. make changes to your cc preferences It wouldn't display the closed captioning at first, and I was irritated that I was "wasting my money. " However, I began to press buttons on the remote control at random. Surprisingly, once you press the "Display" button (located in the bottom right corner of the screen), ) IT WAS COMPLETELY COMPLETELY COMPLETELY COMPLETELY However, you must press the display button each time the recorder is turned on. br>br>The image quality after upconverting was excellent. br>br>I am deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly deafen Hearing and I used it to watch older DVDs with only Closed Caption and no Subtitles, as well as to record cable shows on a VCR. br>br>I really wish the manufacturers of products that DO overlay Closed Caption over the HDMI cable would make that feature more prominent. I'd also like to see Amazon promote it. It was a nightmare to do the research for this.

It also works well with DVDs
4/5

RAM. It also works well with DVDs. RAM is useful because it allows me to delete and re-create recordings. Use discs and time slip recording (watching a show while it is being recorded, similar to a Tivo). Changing the format of a DVD-ROM is a time-consuming process. If you've been using a DVD-ROM drive, RAM can help things run more smoothly from time to time. After using the RAM for a while, the system appears to be slow. br>br>Panasonic has released firmware updates that fix some of the issues that others have had. (burn to CD-ROM after downloading firmware) ROM, put it in the DVR, and turn it on while pressing the special keys). When you call Panasonic support, they suggest returning it while it's still under warranty rather than discussing firmware updates, but if you're comfortable doing so, I recommend it.
