To get the tapes out, I had to fight it for two tapes. It is safe to say that we were deeply Taking the time to test the product ASAP is the way to go!.
The experience I had with this merchant was not good. I closed the case on a dispute today. As a replacement wasn't available for the first machine, I was offered a new one. When it did arrive, the machine worked on the VCR side, but only on the DVD side. DVD's and videos are a big part of my special needs son's life, so I got him this set. Using a switch and two machines, I rigged up two machines for my neighbor to see A video player from his past was used to play the video over the system. The fact that I think this is only fair is not what makes me write bad reviews.
It has worked flawlessly since we received it and we have played half a dozen or so movies on it since then. In the end, we paid almost the same amount for our old one as we did for The spare is now we have one left since these are no longer made, and we have a fairly extensive VHS collection.
I am so pleased with it. Having set it up without a hitch was no trouble at all. I NEEDED the remote to control my TV! It was wrapped beautifully for shipment and I was impressed by it! have a lot of VHS tapes that I can watch again. Thanks a lot! I can't express how grateful I am. The order arrived soon after I anticipated it would.
There is no rewind button on this VCR, it does not come with a remote. I hate it.
My favorite part is that it's easy to use. The Roxio software and adapter were used to rip old videos to my computer hard drive last night for the first time. The entire process worked like a charm. There was a DVD player included in the unit as well, which was a pleasant surprise. Those were not the expectations I had. My DVD player also works well. I can even record DVDs straight to my computer by using the DVD player. It's great to have that. The service I received was excellent.
I do not use the remote control because I was given a generic remote without instructions on how to set it up. My main reason for buying this unit was that I have some VCR tapes that I enjoy watching but cannot afford to replace with DVD (and whatever the next media trend will be). Despite being a senior citizen, I can't tell a difference between the image quality on my 4K TV and what it looks like with the unit.
Despite the fact that it chewed up two tapes, it was still a piece of trash. There were two tapes that were destroyed by the player, but there was nothing on the tapes. Returning it was an easy decision for me.
