All I want is a machine that can play blue ray discs, not all of these other gimmicks. Smart features are what they are called. That being said, I have to unplug and re-plug my DVD player every time I want to watch a movie. It's almost comical how ridiculously bad this player is. Even in 1999, dvd players did not require unplugging after each use.
Ok, so I've had this for three weeks and hardly use it, and some brand new movies aren't even playing; the disc just spins and the player makes this horrible noise; I'm not sure if I need to update the firmware, but this machine is NOT wireless; it must be plugged in directly to a wired connection. It's inconvenient because I'd have to unplug the network at home, which I don't want to do. When it works, it's fine; nothing extraordinary. That's a great photo. It also damaged some of my brand new BR from a set, necessitating the purchase of new ones. I'm completely enraged. At first, I was pleased because it appeared to work, but after three weeks, I became dissatisfied. I'm not going to buy it again.
It was difficult for me to decide whether to give this player a four or five star rating, but there is one nagging flaw that prevents it from receiving a five star rating. I'd like to state up front that I do not use this for streaming. In my living room, I have a smart TV, and in my bedroom, where I use this player, I have a Fire Stick. As a result, I'm not rating those features because I've covered streaming. It's only for discs that I use it for. On the plus side, I have yet to encounter a disc that this player does not recognize. I have a couple of DVDs that won't play on two other Blu-ray players that I got from Malaysia (stuff that isn't available in the US). This player can play Blu-ray discs or regular DVDs, and it does so flawlessly. So, yeah, I'm quite pleased with the results. The sound and image quality are both excellent. However, there is one flaw with this device. It sometimes skips over the FBI warning and the menu and goes straight to the first title. This is fine if I'm watching a movie, but I have a lot of TV shows on DVD and Blu-ray that I want to watch. It irritates me that Ray skips the part where I select which episode I want to watch. I've seen this type of feature on other players before, but there's usually a setting to turn it off, but I can't find one for this one. It's also odd because the player doesn't always behave in this manner. It occasionally goes to the menu after playing all of the legal stuff. As a result, its behavior is inconsistent, which is never a good thing. Overall, it's a decent player that I can use in my bedroom to watch DVDs.
connection via wi-fi.
I really like this machine; it works well, wasn't too expensive, and the ability to stream through it was a pleasant surprise; the only negative thing I have to say about it is that the Amazon-recommended seller has messaged me multiple times asking me to leave a review. So, after they had successfully irritated me, I gave the machine and the seller a review.
I like how rough the exterior is because it will most likely hide scratches and blemishes. The free HDMI cable was a nice bonus. The picture is fantastic, and the remote is also very nice. The item was double-boxed and well-protected during shipping.
I use it to watch all kinds of movies, and it's fantastic. This is a fantastic offer.
Loading a disc takes a long time in this player. It also lacks a resume function when using Blu-ray discs. If you stop it, you'll have to start over and skip ahead to the point where you were. Some DVDs aren't even capable of resuming playback. My now- Samsung is believed to have died around the year 2000. 2010 had resume in both formats and loaded about twice as fast, but there were no captions in Blu Ray, which I purchased to replace it. It is strongly advised against using it. LG stands for Lame Game in this case. EDIT: br>br> The unit stopped responding to the remote control after a few months of use. My TV was still controlled by the remote, and when the player buttons were pressed, I could see the emitter flashing through my phone camera. The item was returned and a refund was issued. I am not planning on returning. purchase.
