Questions & Answers

Are there any Bluetooth headphones that work with it or does Bluetooth work only with the main unit?

My sincere thanks go out to you Using Bluetooth, you can transfer data both ways. Licensed Yamaha dealer World Wide Stereo is four decades old and proud of its history.

What is the best way for my house guest to connect to its Bluetooth (I see no button for pairing on the ?

You will need to search for yamaha receiver on your Bluetooth device, then connect it to your device and use it.

How do the HDMI passthroughs work?

Please forgive me for my lack of knowledge about passthrough. Passthrough would be greatly appreciated if you could describe it to me.

Are the speakers and Bluetooth headsets working at the same time? Is the volume able to be controlled separately if so?

Mind works this way. So I can hear better, I use it.

The A780+ is a better choice because it is really good, but there are issues
4/5

The menu system is fairly simple and the functionality is excellent. I was really impressed with the sound quality for the money from both the HDMI connection and Quite a bit is given to you. * There are a couple of complaints, however** Terrible, overpriced wireless internet These docks will definitely break when they arrive, if they are not already broken (I had two broken ones). Trying to adjust and tighten them is also very finicky and frustrating. The total opposite of what you expected. As far as I understand, this is true of Yamaha's entire AVR range, though I'm not sure. My computer is connected to the Internet via an Ethernet cord so it is not a problem. I find it very frustrating for this amount of Please note There will be no pre-registration The outputs enable you to connect to high-end audio equipment and bypass the amp. It might not be necessary to have this now, but it might be needed when you start upgrading. To get L/R speaker pre-amplified, you need the next model up, the A780 OUTS (also referred to as RX-out In order to use them in a hifi stereo setup you must pass those speakers to a high-end audio amplifier, preamp or receiver. Pre-installation of center channel is provided by the A880 You should also check it out. In addition to that, I think all channels are pre-installed The outgoing leader It is possible. A fixed power cord can be upgraded or repaired as it cannot be replaced in order to upgrade to a better model or repair a broken or frayed cord. The quality of this is incredibly poor. If you don't have an A780 or higher, you need an RX It was easy to replace a cord on my V685. I had a HDMI output problem with my lower end V585, but the A680 one has been fine so far. Overall, I think these Yamahas are the best you can get for your money, but I would recommend you at least go with the RX-1000 It is recommended to have an L/R pre-amp of A780 or higher The A680 is an embarrassment to the Aventage line as it lacks these two features and makes it a poor representation of that line. Yamaha, if you are reading this, please fix your cheap WiFi. There is a connector for the Wi-Fi antenna! Thank you. I hope this is helpful.

I'm pretty disappointed
3/5

The switch was an upgrade from an older Yamaha model, but the thing has been nothing but a hassle. **** - I initially assumed that this unit would have a sounds compression feature to eliminate loud commercials from the sound. After reading the manual, however, I realized that I was wrong. A feature which can just adjust EQ and levels so that the voice is the most prominent sound coming from a broadcast would be useful. This receiver does not have such a feature. I am disappointed with that outcome. With my $150 TLC porch TV, I have a Night Listening function that does this effectively. In today's day and age, it would be logical for a dedicated receiver to do something similar. Not at all. **** - On some ports, I periodically started getting crackly popcorn noise when playing on the PS4. By simply switching channels with the remote, you could remove this noise. If the noise resurfaced, it would be more stressful. **** - There is a chance that the unit will lose signals to sources at random. **** - There will be some point when the unit gets into a mode where it gets stuck in Decoder Off mode (google it, there are tons of people who are experiencing Sources won't work, so there's no source at all. In order to fix the issue, a factory reset is necessary. As well as me, this happened to me. **** - It is hard to use the remote and on-screen display. I have experience using a Yamaha receiver before so I am familiar with the device and its capabilities. The year is still 2019, though. There is no longer a need for 50 keys on a remote control. The unit has only been in my possession for just over a year (I don't even watch television or play games on it that often), but I've experienced all these problems. Initially I thought about returning the unit, but because it doesn't even have the features I need, I think I will buy a new one instead. The $550 I wasted is like throwing money away. Immediately after receiving it, I should have returned it. Having lost me as a customer, Yamaha has lost me.

It did not live up to expectations
3/5

The rating has been downgraded. My old Sony was replaced by this new one. In fact, it has actually been downgraded. I have a great deal of trouble with this amplifier. There is one major issue it will switch inputs on its own. Trying to figure out which input it should be on is hard for me because I have an Amazon Cube and a PS4 Pro. I have been unable to figure out why when I turn on my TV input, I automatically turn on my PS4 system and switch input. I use 4 controllers now that I cannot get to the bottom of this issue. A real pain in the neck. It's pretty easy for me to work with this type of The same applies. It is very difficult to detect the stream automatically on streaming. Whenever I try to use a sub, I get bad reverb from it and have to switch to a different DSP if I want the The Klipsch rear surround speakers never come on when I'm home. With my Sony, I never experienced this issue. In any case. It's too late to send this thing back unfortunately but I am definitely disappointed in the Magnolia Yamaha product line.

This is a great receiver
5/5

The Yamaha representatives directly answered our questions before we placed the order. A customer service representative from Yamaha spent nearly an hour giving us advice after we had quit our other Yamaha after 13 years. This system was recommended to us after he talked to us about how we use the current system and all the features it has, saying that we didn't need to upgrade because this one would do everything we need in addition to being able to expand. Originally, the quality of our television picture was very good, but now it has improved even more. The receiver I recommend has no reservations on my part.

It sounds like a great list of features a Technical Care Attendant should offer
5/5

My only complaint is that there is no one to complain to. It is set up quite easily with numbered diagrams and is printed well. This feature is full of acronyms I don't understand and buttons I'm hesitant to touch for fear of something going wrong. In the future, I plan to keep it in my reading pile until I come across something I don't understand and I have to enlist the assistance of tech support and my patient son to help me decipher it. With excellent clarity and good low bass, it delivers Rolling Stones, cowboy movie soundtracks, and classical music with great clarity and bass levels for my tone deaf age group.

It rocks, man! In combination with the Harmon K5 speaker set up + 1 powered base , the sound is excellent, but the remote has to be aimed at the unit, and the screen may not be very good
