Local channels necessitate the use of an antenna. This receiver appears to be of the most recent generation. The old receiver only found about 20 channels, whereas the auto detect found 48. In addition, the user interface has been significantly enhanced. You're good to go if your projector supports HDMI input.

par. When I first opened the box, the first thing I noticed was that the remote did not match the picture on Amazon; The remote was identical to that of the iView 3200. Fortunately, the iView 3500 remote control - If you have one, please share it with us. will be compatible with the 3300 (Which begs the question, "Doesn't that beg the question?"). Why didn't iView simply include the 3500 remote with all of their boxes, perhaps for an extra $3? )br>br>The 3300 has the same appearance as the 3500, but it is smaller. The only difference between the 3500 and the 3300 is the lack of a coaxial audio output, which both the 3200 and 3500 have, but most people won't notice. br>br>The top and sides of the box were covered in a layer of clear plastic film. This is a common practice to avoid shipping scratches. The end user is usually the one who removes it. The film, however, was covered by an iView warranty seal - As a result, if you remove it entirely, your warranty will be void! I carefully peeled it off the left side and top, then cut it off, leaving the film on the right side (where the seal is). br>br>The emerald front-end-end-end-end-end-end-end-end-end- When the box is in standby, the panel display displays a clock. When turned on, it displays "boot" while booting, followed by the same not-so-favorable not-favorable not-favorable not-f very- The number 3500 is a good internal channel number. During a channel scan, it displays the word "SCAN. " CH_ON and CH_OFF vs. CH_ON and CH_OFF vs. CH_OFF vs. CH_OFF vs. CH_OFF vs. CH_OFF vs. CH_OFF vs. CH_OFF vs. CH_OFF v The CH_3, CH_4, and Loop Through options are available on the 3500. That's reasonable - The only thing left to do in the menu is to turn the modulator on or off because the RF output is controlled by a hardware switch in the back. br>br>My unit's firmware date is 2020/04/15, but it appears to be derived from an earlier firmware version so far. In comparison to the 3200/3500, I noticed a few regressions: br>br> br> br> br> br> br> b Option to set the time for an hour. br>br> Changing channels (with the left/right arrow keys) in the EPG is buggy. The EPG is limited to just two lines. To see the entire list, you must exit and reopen the EPG. br>br> If you have a channel without the -, you must exit and reopen the EPG. Entering the channel number without a subchannel simply results in "Invalid Channel" - It will not simply be delivered to the - Unless you press the "-" key, there will be two subchannels. br>br> On every channel, the word NONE appears in the mini guide that shows the current and next show when you first tune in. The video resolution (480i/720p/1080i) is indicated by the numbers 3200/3500. br>br> Here's one of the most ridiculous bugs I've ever seen: They forgot to include the option to enable Daylight Saving Time, so you'll have to select a time zone one hour ahead of your actual time zone to get the right time during DST. Last but not least, today was hit by the dreaded channel rescan bug. This bug was present in early versions of the 3200/3500 firmware, and it causes the iView to rescan a channel when you tune to it on occasion. Any recording timers set for the channel will be lost or scrambled as a result of this. As a result, some channels are unable to record reliably due to this bug. Since 2016, the 3200/3500 has been updated to address all of these bugs, quirks, and annoyances. So, unless/until iView updates the firmware on the 3300, I'd suggest getting an iView 3500 or 3200 instead.

I read a lot of reviews about this product before I bought it, and many of them were false, so I'm here to clear the air

1. - The Tuner This device's tuner has an average ability to pick up stations. Even though I live on the outskirts of town, a good tuner and a cheap paperthin flat panel antenna can still pick up most stations. With a paperthin flat panel antenna, I could only get about half of the channels when I first connected this tuner. The good news is that when I connected it to my garage's excellent amplified external antenna, I was able to receive all channels in crystal clear.
2. The user interface on this one is nearly identical to that of every other tuner device. (Did they all come from a single code block? ) The interface is adequate, but I can confirm that there is no daylight savings time, so you'll have to change timezones when it's appropriate.
3. DVR - As long as your antenna is in good shape, the DVR will record flawlessly. It will use FAT32 or NTFS formatted drives and appears to be as good as a live broadcast. The majority of the time, you schedule by date, time, and channel, with only a few repeat options available. Because the EPG takes a long time to load program information, I usually schedule things manually and get program information from a website. I haven't used the repeat recording feature yet, so I don't have any data to share, but I have recorded a few single recordings and have had no issues. This device, like nearly all of the others I've tried, saves files in an unusual format. MTS is a multimedia transmission standard.
4. Now for the big question: "Will this device overheat if I only use it to watch live TV and record movies and shows?" If you only use this device to watch live TV and record movies and shows, you are unlikely to have an overheating problem. At the very least, I haven't come across one yet. The overheating issue (or system lockups) occurs every time I try to playback a recording, but see the update below for more information. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The firmware update appears to have resolved the lockups I was experiencing while playing back recordings!.

It's easy to overheat this thing, especially if you leave it on all night

This device is now connected to my gym's TV. It works fine except when it overheats and the picture becomes distorted. The device WILL overheat if left on for more than a few hours or overnight. When this happens, the image degrades and distorts (probably due to internal component interference). As a result, I now have to turn it off when I'm finished watching to keep it cool - This is extremely aggravating. As a result, I've assigned it a two-star rating.
