I'll begin with the bad: The price was set at $30 for this item. Plus $8. 00 for shipping and handling, plus tax, for a total of $40. 00 is the answer. We couldn't use it, so I had to pay to have it returned, which was a bummer. The Drawbacks: br>br> Because the seller does not specify which product you will receive, we were sent the " I VIEW - 3200STB- There are a lot of negative comments about this unit. br>br>The included antenna was useless for us; unless you live very close to a tower, you'll need to invest in an OTA HD antenna. br>br>The instructions are 19 pages long and of poor quality. To get everything working, I had to do a lot of trial and error and tinkering with it. To make it work for you, you'll need some computer know-how and patience. It's not intuitive. br>br>As the description states, this unit is only capable of recording ONE show at a time, and you can't watch anything else while it's recording. If you're watching a recording, it'll go into live mode and record something else. There is only a single tuner. br>br>You can't watch and pause or skip commercials while it's recording; it simply stops. br>br>We were getting about 30 channels before we hooked up this unit. We were down to ten people after we hooked it up. Our reception became more spotty as the picture began to flicker. br>br>The recording and playback functions are extremely cumbersome. When you select what you want to record, the system still requires you to manually enter date, time, and other information, and it's difficult to fast forward and playback a show because the remote is unresponsive, which is frustrating. It alerts you if there is a scheduling conflict, but I had to start over to record; other times, it simply determined that the show I wanted to record was not recordable. br>br>In the end, we returned it after three days. My husband was not interested in learning all of its quirks. I had to keep looking up functions in the manual because the remote is small and has tiny lettering. br>br>And now for the good stuff: Tablo's butt was kicked by this unit! Tablo will set you back $200. It was much easier to set up and use this unit. One day later, we returned the Tablo. This box can be set up and used without an Internet connection. br>br> If you want to record free over-the-air TV, this is an affordable option. This unit will set you back around $40, plus you'll need a $20-$30 antenna. 80 dollars, plus $20 for a storage unit outside the house 100 The total cost of all three was around $170. This works out to be around $14. 00 per month for the first year for a single television. br>br>This is the solution for you if you don't mind the clumsy interface or if you watch a lot of PBS and want to watch it on your own time. br>br>Read the other reviews if you want more information. Finally, keep in mind that this is a less expensive option than cable or satellite.

6/13/2021 update: br>Two stars have been deducted. I've been using this box for a couple of weeks now, and I'm very disappointed with it. When I press the "record" button after a show has begun, it does not begin recording. "Enter Record. Waiting" is the message that appears. " for 1- 3 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE DISPLAY OF "Unknown Error. " Leaving. " After that, nothing is done. " br>br>Another annoyance when scheduling a daily show to record is that you can't select an "M-" channel. Just "daily" for the "F" option. If, for example, a show airs every weekday (e. g. , If a show airs on Saturday or Sunday but not on Saturday or Sunday, the box will record on Saturday and Sunday at the same channel and time. It only works by channel and time, not program name. br>br>The ability to pause and rewind live shows as well as skip commercials is another VERY annoying "feature. " This is referred to as a "time shift" by eXuby. Ha! Using it necessitates a genuine "time shift"! It takes FOREVER (1-hour) to click the "pause" button during a live show. It only takes two minutes! It will take a few moments for it to take effect. It worked once, but when I tried to use it during the Westminster Dog Show tonight, it failed miserably twice, and I was so frustrated! br>br>Reducing the rating by two stars - one because there aren't any true skips. Another star for refusing to record when the red record button is pressed during a live show due to a commercial feature (also known as "time shift"). original review: br>br> br>It's not difficult to set up this box. Even though I didn't use the included antenna, it scanned for all of my local channels and found them all. I used a much better antenna that I already had set up; all I did was connect it to the new, eXuby box instead of my TV). It was ready to go after I connected an existing 2TB hard drive to it and formatted it using the eXuby box. br>br>I was taken aback by the size of the eXuby box. It's about a half-inch shorter than my iPhone 11, but it's only about twice as thick. These devices have come a long way from the bulky Beta tape recorders of the past!.

My TV was broken when thieves broke into my house. They yanked the set's cable/antenna input out. This item was purchased so that I could watch over-the-air broadcasts on my HDMI input. It's fantastic! I have to use the device's built-in tuner, but it appears to work fine; the device has its own built-in RF amp, and I have to remove my existing amp from the loop in order for it to work properly. br>br>You have the option of selecting any output resolution you want, which leads me to the only possible improvement I would recommend to the manufacturer. I'd prefer it if the unit's output resolution was automatically matched to the input resolution. That's what I want out if I have 720P, 1080I, 480I, or whatever in. Why try to improve a signal electronically when it's impossible? br>br>Anyway, the tuner is fantastic and has saved me from having to buy a new television. You can also use a USB flash drive or a hard drive to turn this device into a DVR! I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to do so soon in order to record shows that air while I'm at work.
