I now have two of these units in my possession. Because it had been heavily used, the first was returned right away. The packaging was a complete mess. The person who repacked it was a slacker. Amazon didn't appear to have done any research into this. The second unit was brand new and had never been used before. It set- I was able to set it up quickly and start using it. Everything was fine until I turned on the PVR. I could record and playback programming, but I couldn't fast forward or rewind it. The only way to catch up on any missed material was to restart from the beginning, with no ability to skip ahead to the desired spot. There are no buttons for those functions on the remote. I've tried three different converter boxes in total, and they're all awful. All of the units Amazon sells appear to be made by the same Chinese company, based on the menu screens. So far, every single one of them has proven to be a complete waste of time.

This product appealed to me because all of the parts and plugs were simple to connect and set up on my older television. I would buy this product again because it allowed me to watch a lot of cable-free channels in a short amount of time.

When this ZJBOX was first purchased, the remote control did not function properly. Several buttons were ineffective, and the majority of the buttons were incorrectly labeled as to which function the remote control key should control. The ZJBOX box was capable of recording programs for up to an hour and a half and even longer. Later, the company offered a firmware update, so I used an USB flash drive to update the firmware on the ZJBOX box, and the remote control functioned properly after that. The bad news is that whenever I try to record with the ZJBOX box, it now freezes in under 13 minutes. I've tried recording from a variety of different channels, but it still freezes. I also tried a variety of flash drives, and the ZJBOX still freezes with each one. When the ZJBOX freezes, it requires a person to unplug it and re-plug it. It also freezes if you use the programming function to change channels at a predetermined time for recording to an external source such as a DVD or VCR; it also freezes if you use the programming function to change channels at a predetermined time for recording to an external source such as a DVD or VCR. br>br>This is the third Digital to Analog converter I've bought, and none of them has worked perfectly. The other two I bought, an Ematic and a Zinwell, both died completely within a year of purchase.

One of the grandsons accidentally ripped the OTA (Over The Air) antenna connection out of the back of the 60-inch television a few months ago. TV. We also lost access to the 50 FREE OTA channels that were available in So. Calif. While internet streaming apps are useful for some tasks, they are ineffective when it comes to watching over-the-air television. There aren't as many channels as there used to be, and there are a lot more commercials. br>Because our TV has additional HDMI inputs, this was a convenient way to reclaim those 50 channels. br>This tuner restores all of the "missing" channels, but it isn't as user-friendly or quick as the built-in tuner. br>Things that irritate you (after you've scanned all of your local channels) are: 1) It must "Boot" up each time it is turned on; unlike the TV, it is not "instant on. " 2) To change channels, dial a number and then wait. 3) There is no such thing as (. If you want to go to a specific subchannel, such as 5, you can use the ) button. To get to number 4, you must first go to number 5 and then repeat the process three times. 4) Switching channels takes a long time (lag), so if you want to check other channels quickly during commercials, you'll be late getting back to your original program. 4) You must turn on and off your TV independently of the ZJBOX. br>Finishing touches; Although not ideal, it is preferable to not watching TV or watching limited channels with poorly placed commercials via the internet. br>Finishing touches; Is it something I'd go out of my way to get? Probably, but I miss the built-in tuner's speed and convenience, as well as instant access to all OTA channels.

This converter box does a good job. We're still trying to get our antenna in the right spot. It does, however, appear to work. All of the functions appear to work as they should. The remote, on the other hand, must be pointed DIRECTLY at the box. So when I try to press the button, it doesn't always work.

It's incredibly simple to set up and operate. It's great that it includes everything you'll need except the antenna. I don't use the dvr, only the television. When you turn on a channel, I like how it tells you the name of the program and what's coming up next. The price is extremely reasonable.

The photos in the User Manual don't even match the ones in the User Manual. The photo of the remote does not correspond to the description in the manual! There are no controls on the remote! There isn't a play button to be found. There isn't a pause button available; There are no buttons for fast forward or fast reverse! The photo of the remote buttons is mislabeled in the manual. IT WAS A FRUSTRATING NIGHTMARE IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE! And I'm annoyed that Amazon has squandered my time with such a poorly designed product! I'm not sure how I'll ever trust Amazon to provide anything trustworthy again!.

I recently cut the cord on cable but wanted to keep watching sports at home. Because plugging a coax cable directly into my TV is a pain due to the way it's mounted, this converter box was the ideal solution for adding a digital antenna quickly and easily. There have been no problems so far, and it is incredibly simple to use. The remote is a little flimsy, but the box as a whole is reasonably priced, so there are no major surprises.
