First of all, the antenna did not pick up any channels, whereas another one Even if it does not detect any channels, it just returns to the main menu, without letting you know what the problem is. Additionally, I tried to play a movie from a thumb drive, and it only played one, but the volume was awful. I also tried another game, but it just froze as soon as it began. While trying to stop, forward, or backward, the box freezes and the only way to unplug it is to turn the power off, since the power buttons are inactive when the box is I can live with the build quality of the box, but the remote is incredibly unresponsive. We were able to get a refund after we returned the item.
It was a pleasant surprise to discover that this new converter (another brand) proved to be more compact, easier to set up, and more rewarding to use. I believed that its sole purpose was to convert digital signals into an analog signal able to be received by my old, analog TV device. My older converter could identify fewer channels but this one was able to detect more and I enjoyed uninterrupted viewing of channels whose signal had previously been sporadic or intermittent. Because one of those channels had been my favorite source I was pleased with this new converter and would recommend it highly.
I have about seven channels picked up by my antenna in my living room. The TV is now in my bedroom, where 22 channels are available. The LOCATION of the antenna is crucial! For this one, I chose to put it in the living room in order to be able to record things. In my case, I usually get 4 channels a week, only a few of which will be static-free. There is no way to record from this box. By watching videos, I was able to connect to it. It works fine for him, but it's a paperweight for me. You can save time and money by doing this. Receiving with this antenna is a total waste of time. I've even tried it in different rooms with more windows, and it behaves the same way. Returning it months ago was the right thing to do.
So far I am pleased, I still need to play around with it some, but for the price of the antenna it is not the best, there are a few shows I can't view, so I plugged in an antenna from a dollar store and they are now working.
I was disappointed when the first box didn't come with a remote but the seller quickly rectified the issue.
We cancelled cable and got satellite instead. We switched to a streaming service that was more affordable. We only wanted local channels. . . easy to set up, picked up all the channels we wanted. . . Please read on. If you are looking for a basic converter that will work in a suburban area with some trees, but not in the mountains, this is the one for you.
My antenna picks up channels from a lot of rural areas, and I was delighted to see just how many channels it received. It took me a few minutes to get them set up, but my daughter did it in about 10 minutes after she drove up from the city. In my bedroom I plan on buying a second TV, I had to go without cable tv because of my fixed income.
My goal was to be able to watch television from my projector through an antenna, and I can do just that! My only reason for granting it 4 stars is the antenna that comes with the device. Other reviewers have already stated how worthless it is. The rabbit ear antenna I had did a much better job of receiving channels than the new one did. A better antenna is necessary, or the antenna just needs to be dropped. Due to it's very weak antenna, it gives the impression that the product is low quality.
Even after hours of tinkering, I'm still unable to record my programs. The only thing I can do is rewind and scroll past commercials once I stop the program I am watching. Changing the remote is another challenge, since the remote isn't as sensitive to touch, and so you have to place it exactly where the machine will detect it. When I first press the display button, it sometimes does not stop, causing me to need to change the The good thing about it, though, is that it's In order to receive more channels, you need to purchase a different antenna. One that Walmart, which is advertised on TV and costs $11, is the one I use. Smart TV is what I get from it. The channel is my favorite.
