Questions & Answers

Where is the difference between the KA500 and the KA500IP?

Many years ago, before the iPhone was released, we had to make a new circuit to charge the iPhone, which was not the same as the Android, hence we created the KA500IP. Later, we made them all the same that can charge an iPhone, so there is no difference I am Kaito

Does the dial have a Are you a mono or stereo person?

On the light, I say yes. Radio screen is lit by the light selection switch on top. This is a mono only project. It's a great radio station. I was surprised at the reception on SW

Can a cell phone be recharged with a solar charger in a reasonable amount of time?

As for the solar panel, it is very limited, it will never charge a cellphone fully, it runs about a half an hour of radio. It is necessary to crank the cellphone in order to charge Despite the tiny size of the solar panel, the amount of power it produces is sufficient I am Kaito

Is 2 minutes of cranking going to give me a lot of charge?

It's quiet, I find it to be a great radio, and you will not be disappointed. I rarely use the crank, but I did try it and found that it gave me a few minutes of play time.

There was no value in it
3/5

In the end, I decided to try this radio based on the many reviews I read. I turned the crank to wind it up for the first time, and it The torque I applied to it was quite small Cheap plastic and poor design are all there is to it. Then it didn't do the one thing it was supposed to do, which was receive NOAA weather broadcasts. Then I doubled-checked it I checked my channel, and it wasn't receiving FM (it did receive FM just fine). It appears to be a pretty good feature, but I wish it had better functionality. I would like to make the following point If you leave the manufacturer a review on Amazon, you'll receive a free charger or antenna inside the box. Some of the positive reviews may be due to that. I have a few thoughts on this game The product doesn't function, so I am returning it for a.

I ordered the radio to try it out, but I ended up returning it
3/5

Today I received this radio and I have been playing with it for the past several hours. You did a great job with this. The sound quality is superb for a speaker of this size. When the antenna is up for FM and short wave, the reception is good. However, the am reception from time to time can be a bit spotty, but it could be the area. Since I live in a rural area, the signal can be harder to receive. As for the battery compartment cover, I did not like it either. There is a lot of flimsiness to this and it is very vulnerable to breaking. I think they could have given this cover a bit more thought and made it a little thicker and more durable.
Add a couple of LED lights to the flashlight portion to improve what is a week. Additionally, to use a lighted dial function a flashlight must be turned on at the same time. There is a possibility that the battery will be drained faster. Light from the dial should not be included in the I am really pleased with this unit and would recommend it to anybody. A large flashlight with a dial light and a battery compartment prompted me to give it four stars. Aside from that, it appears to be a great purchase. This product is well worth the cost and would recommend it as a purchase. Although it seems to be quite resilient but I wouldn't recommend it for children since there are some parts that could be broken In my opinion, if you're looking for a radio, you cannot go wrong for the price. It has wonderful features, great sound, and works just as it's supposed to. I had to return this item to Amazon because the solar panel stopped working. * Update 9/15/18 The solar panel has now stopped working. It is unlikely that the solar panel will melt in just a few weeks because the price we pay for the radio is so high. In spite of that, I've downgraded this item to two stars, as I think this is a good radio but there shouldn't be an issue after using for just a week or two, and at least not all the time. The radio you are considering is not worth the money.

In this case, the rechargeable batteries did not perform as expected Edited text The rating on my account has been downgraded
3/5

What's the reason? During the first three months of use, the rechargeable batteries failed. The last time I bought it was found everything to be working as it should. After that, I used the hand crank to supply power to the batteries in September when Dorian came through. I have not had any A charge will either not be held or will not be made by them. To make it work, I had to insert AA batteries. In order to get a radio which could be cranked by hand so that I could use it without using batteries and if there is no power, I purchased this model. This original review was written as follows This is the weather radio I purchased because I want a device that can be charged without electricity and has FM capability. In this case, that is the case. To charge it, I can hand crank I can vouch for the lights in that they NoAA weather channel worked for me and I was able to watch it. (See below for an example of how NOAA's weather alerts work). As well as the radio working. Everything is there, so it is a good product. Despite the fact that I prefer to have it set to give me alerts 24 hours a day, it did not come with a power adapter, which meant that it had to be plugged in all the time. My husband and I were able to find one that worked in our stash of "wall warts," so I didn't need to spend extra money. Apparently, you shouldn't leave it plugged in if you don't want the battery to overcharge. I dunno how true that is but it leaves me worried. If I don't charge it daily, it serves no purpose for me to leave it dead. As a result, I am connected. As far as I can tell, the only problem I have is with In the background there is a very loud alert tone, and a comparatively low volume of the radio voice. As long as that's the case, I'm fine. It is true. Rather than turning off after sending out an alert, it plays the alert information and then immediately starts broadcasting the basic NOAA weather forecast for the affected For the NOAA Alert to shut off, I have to turn the knob to OFF and then back to NOAA Alert.

The trip is well I have purchased many Kaito radios over the last 20 or so years, and they are worth every penny! Camping, working outdoors, a trip to the beach - all of mine have gone through the rigors
5/5

The sky is the limit. The abuse does not seem to affect them too much. Their costs are reasonable and they have been able to tune them excellently most of the time. The fact that batteries are not necessary during any season when the power has gone out due to a storm is a plus. Wear and tear on a NiMh battery will occur after a couple of The average person uses this item every day. I have used it to recharge an e-reader. This method takes a bit of time to do, but it offers an excellent way to pass the time. In the latest version the device is covered in a grippy rubberized skin, which ensures that you can more easily grip it. This note applies Waterproofing is not possible with these. During a camping trip, I lost one to a rainstorm. I had been using the flashlight on it and had put it too close to the leak in the tent by mistake. It is nice to switch from regular radio to SW mode. I can find out what's coming up by using the weather function, which accounts for nearby stations as well, as well as my local station. This is an additional feature that I'm unable to have on my regular weather radio. This is a great, affordable purchase to have on hand for regular or The recommendation is high.
