There are no batteries in this microphone. It performs admirably. I would purchase this item again.
It was so long that I had to return it (but don't let that deter you; it could be beneficial to you!). ) I'm guessing it's somewhere between two and three. Longer than 3 ft. It's important to remember that this is a straight cord that will stretch, not a coiled cord.
As long as you have a 4-channel radio, you're good to go. Yes, it will work if you have a pin microphone jack.
There will be no changes.

This is, without a doubt, the best microphone I've ever used. It has a clear sound, is long-lasting, and it has a lovely appearance.

This mic's output will be clear, distortion-free, and noise-free in most cases. The output is also a little weak, so "eating the mic" to get it loud enough is required. If you have a habit of holding the microphone a few inches away from your mouth and mumbling in that weak, mousy tone that irritates and annoys everyone. "What did he say?" will be a common question. " I'm talking about it all the time. If that's the case, you shouldn't use this microphone. The microphone is built to last, with a metal grill and thick, tough plastic. I prefer the version with the metal cord jacketing, and I've used these (as well as the more expensive RK56 mics) for decades. The cords will hold up as long as you don't pass the microphone to your backseat buddies. The mic is virtually indestructible in its own right. When I was testing two microphones on the road in the 1980s, I accidentally plugged one into a radio without screwing the outer lock ring down. The mic unplugged and the connector smacked me in the face (coiled cord), so I let go of the mic, which flew out the window onto the highway. I came to a halt, turned around, and returned to retrieve it. There are a few scuff marks on it, but that's about it. The mic, like all dynamic noise canceling mics, is meant to be held right up to your mouth, with the rubber guard against your upper lip. I still have it, and it still works fine. You'll be on here whining and sniveling about how bad the mic is if you don't use it this way and speak up at a normal volume. The microphone isn't bad at all. If you're a squeaky mouse, get the power mic version of this thing, but chances are you won't be talking INTO the mic anyway, so you'll complain about it as well.

My personal favorite are Astatic mics, which are comfortable to hold and sound fantastic. They also have a long lifespan.

I don't use any noisemakers, echos, reverbs, or roger beeps in my recordings. It's been said that the sound on my radio is comparable to that of a recording studio!.

This microphone has demonstrated its ability to communicate effectively. A big plus is the SS long cable. A six-pin (up/down frequency) connector is included. A model is required.

This Astatic 636L was purchased to replace one that I purchased more than four years ago. The previous one was able to withstand a lot of abuse. These have a lot of life left in them.

I bought two more right away, and it's the only non-alcoholic beverage I have in my house. I use a powerful microphone. The reports were excellent, and the cord was extremely long.
