Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this scanner on a Mac?

The scanner, but not any of the included or bundled software, can be used on a Mac. If you have a Mac and a Fujitsu scanner (hardware only), please consider using dockeep pro.

Is it possible to connect to this machine via WiFi?

This machine isn't equipped with a wireless connection. Thank you

Is everything you'll need included in the box?

Yes. It has a USB 3.0 port. 0 cord - This is convenient because it enables the high-speed scanner to quickly transmit all of the data through the cord. USB 3. USB 2 and USB 0 are backwards-compatible. If you don't have a USB 3.0 port on your computer, enter 0. On your computer, there is a 0 port.

Is there a way to make the software ask for the filename instead of using the default naming convention after each scan?

There are four main software command buttons in my software: the color black Color, auto color, and "simple scan" are some of the options. My color button scans are saved automatically to my laptop's "public documents" folder. For convenience, I created a shortcut to that folder on my desktop, then cut and pasted it to its final location, renaming it from an auto-generated name. I've given it a name that was generated from what I've given it. I also get rid of auto-complete. In order to avoid confusion and save memory space, batch files should be named afterward from software. But it's my rightmost button that I'm having trouble with. Simple scan, or something similar, requires you to choose a destination location and file name manually after each scan.

Selected User Reviews For Fujitsu fi-7160 Deluxe Professional Desktop Color Duplex Document Scanner with Paperstream Capture Pro

Although the quality is excellent, the market is grey
3/5

Fujitsu is a Japanese electronics company that manufactures computers and other electronic devices. The 7160 scanner is a fantastic model. However, I didn't give it 5 stars because when I tried to register it directly with Fujitsu, I discovered that the serial number indicated it was grey market, which is apparently legal, but Fujitsu US is not obligated to repair or replace it if it breaks within the warranty period. Grey market items, according to my understanding, must be returned to the country of origin for repair, which would be a major hassle for most expensive and/or large purchases. I couldn't find any mention of this item being grey market anywhere in the Amazon blurb. Something like that needs to be stated very clearly! My advice is to always ask Amazon and their vendors if an item is grey market (especially if it's a big ticket item), because that information isn't readily available unless it's buried deep in extra fine print:.

This is a grey market product, so be aware
4/5

I would give this scanner five stars if it weren't for the following issues: Others have said that this is a "grey market" product, and here's why that matters. To begin with, the hardware is fantastic. The Paper Stream software that came with it was something I didn't care for. It was difficult and perplexing for me. I eventually downloaded ScanSnap Manager for fi Series, which is incredibly easy to set up and configure. But there's a catch: there's a problem. The scanner was unable to locate the software after a few days. It kept directing me to the Windows scanning software, my MFP software, and my PDF software. I worked with my IT guy to get it up and running, but I lost the connection again a few days later. My IT guy worked for several hours but was unable to resolve the issue. After that, I dialed Fujitsu Technical Support at (800) 626-6666. 4686 and informed her of the serial number, as well as the fact that this is not a U. In the United States, the scanner and serial number should not be sold. (Can you say North America?) I have no idea). That means that if I have a hardware problem, I won't be able to get a warranty replacement. On the other hand, it took less than 10 minutes for the person I spoke with to log on to my computer and make some changes, and I am now back up and running. She gave me a case number and told me that if I had another software problem, all I had to do was call, give them the case number, and they would fix it for free. If the scanner fails, there will be a problem. Overall, five stars for the product and one star for the deceptive marketing.

Compatible with both Mac and PC

For single-volume scanning, this is an excellent scanner. desk use. For legal use on a Mac, I suggest it. The cost of driver software must be borne by you. br>br>A high-quality high-tech high-tech high-technology high-technology high-technology high-technology high- In my neighborhood, there is a high-volume court that accepts paperless filings. Only this scanner, the f1-100, is used by the Fulton County Superior Court. For lawyers and laypeople who need to file documents in person at the court clerk's office, dial 7160. E-filing is available in all federal and bankruptcy courts. filing- only, and here in Georgia, the vast majority of state courts have made the switch to electronic filing. The majority of them are solely concerned with filing. The days of rushing to court to beat the statute (or the filing deadline, as well as the parking and mileage costs) are long gone. ) is no longer applicable. br>br>I'm a tech moron (or close to it), but I had the foresight to photograph the court's scanner and purchase one for my own office, which runs on macOS High Sierra 10. 2 but I took the advice of a friend and downloaded ExactScan Pro for $79. From the App Store, it'll set you back 99 dollars. This software is not available on Amazon. I was up and running in about three minutes after the software discovered the scanner. Scanning with the mouse is possible. Using the rubber button on the scanner itself or clicking on the screen The cost is estimated to be around $850. 00 for a Mac plus software isn't cheap. I'm confident that I'll make up for lost time in terms of output.

Money can't buy you the best scanner
5/5

I put these up wherever I can persuade clients to part with their cash. The software and drivers that come with them are very nice, and you can use the paperstream drivers to create multiple scan profiles and set users up to be able to take a single document and scan in multiple pages of all different sizes, and the software will skip blank pages and automatically detect the correct size of each sheet of paper in a single scan. I usually have users set up so that they can do everything with a single touch of the scanner's scan button on the front. Office users have told me a thousand times how much easier their lives are now compared to previous solutions.

PandaDragon is an online retailer that sells European Part Numbers
3/5

CAUTION: PandaDragon had a European Part Number on the one I bought in December 2019. I received the following information from Fujitsu's US chat: "Fujitsu Europe Division was in charge of selling the scanner. This indicates that the scanner will be available in Europe, such as the United Kingdom. When this scanner is sold, the entire profit will go to Fujitsu Europe, rather than Fujitsu America. This also means that any warranty repairs should be handled by Fujitsu Europe Division since they were paid; if a US customer received this scanner after purchasing from the US, it appears that the reseller made a mistake and sold the wrong unit. Amazon has done this in the past, and items can be exchanged with them. " Part Number in Europe: PA03670- B051; Part Number in the United States: PA03670- B055. Before you buy, do a search on Amazon for this part number.

Although PaperStream is excellent, image scans are blurry
3/5

A $900 (Fujitsu) scanner should deliver more than a $500 (Epson FF-500) scanner, in my opinion. Scanner (with a power output of 680W) Both of them were mine. I first noticed that Fujitsu scans were slightly out of focus, similar to how a camera lens produces an out of focus image, so did the scanner. I used VueScan software to eliminate differences in scanning software, and yes, Fujitsu consistently produced out-of-focus images, whereas Epson consistently produced sharp images. I felt let down. br>It's possible that Fujitsu can be calibrated, but I couldn't find any information on how to do so. I believe Fujitsu will return, while Epson will remain, unless I can get Fujitsu to perform at least as well as Epson.
