Fujitsu is now a Fujitsu customer! BIG DEAL! br>I used to work for ScanNap
5/5

Fujitsu 5110EOX2, which I adored! For more than a decade, it served as a workhorse. I'd finally had enough of 'duck taping' the software and wasting time trying to get it to work on Windows 10. I wish they'd just send out a driver to keep up with the OS, but then you'd have to buy a new computer. As a result, Fujitsu's quality standard serves as my benchmark for this review. DS- Epson DS- Epson DS- Epson DS- Epson DS- Epson DS- Epson DS- Epson DS After doing a lot of research, I decided on 530. This, or the Fujitsu FI-100, was the unit in question. At $700, the 7030 Desktop Scanner is an excellent value. Both have TWAIN drivers, and I wanted to use OneNote instead of paper! (and future-proof it a little) I chose Epson because it was half the price and had excellent reviews. This is their most recent model, and it's a step up from the DS-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 520 I don't need or want WiFi, so the DS-Lite is perfect for me. With all of Fujitsu's features, the 530 appeared to be ideal. br>br>Initial Impression: br>WOW, it's fantastic. Faster than my Fujitsu, which is 10 years old, and the software compatibility is excellent! Because I had already done the free upgrade from Windows 7, I decided to do a clean install of Windows 10. For a variety of reasons, I'm glad I did, but I wanted to make sure I started fresh and avoided any conflicts that might arise from customizing the OS for an unsupported Fujitsu. So far, it has performed admirably, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The slider for the paper holders moved like butter, according to someone who reviewed it. It's simple to load the scanner with paper and then move the guides tight on the paper with just one hand. I'll keep you updated on any issues I run into or cool features I find. If you don't see an update, that means the scanner is perfect and working so well that you've forgotten about it because it's become part of your daily routine. br>br>Update 12/26/16br>Scanning a ridiculous amount of paperwork, including receipts and oddly shaped papers. So far, there haven't been any blunders. feed, double feed, or issues with not being able to scan anything I'm looking at. THE DOCUMENT CAPTURE PRO SOFTWARE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES. It's an excellent tool for transferring scanned documents to various software applications. I adore OneNote, and Capture Pro makes scanning directly into the program and later organizing it a breeze. Update 3/18/17br>Still rock solid, even after 'I' screwed up a Bios update. br>br> I'll have to redo the update, but the scanner is still operational despite my error. The unit continues to please me. When not in use, keep the lid closed, and hopefully it will last a long time. br>br>Update 5/1/17br>It's still rock solid, but Document Scanner Pro's updated version isn't great. I had to uninstall and reinstall vs. I chose 12 because I preferred the way it looked over the new version. Epson hasn't provided any information about what's changed, and all of their online 'help' guides still show 1. 12, rather than the newer version 2. On top of returning to preferred software, it was simple to change and calling tech support with questions was of high quality. Still a five-star rating. br>br>9/19/2018 Update - Workhorse, no problems; the only 'problem' is that the software wants to upgrade to a new version. Good, but there are no instructions or guides for using the new software version. I uninstalled the new version and reinstalled the previous one. Still, it isn't a problem, and they may receive better training on the newer version of the software, which has more capabilities. Because I prefer older software, I refuse to update on a monthly basis.

Although the scanner is excellent, the software's customer service is lacking
3/5

The true rating is probably a four-star rating, but I gave it three stars to catch the attention of potential buyers. br>br>I bought an Epson DS-2000 printer. According to reviews and specifications, the 530 scanner is a good choice. I have a Neat document scanner, and while it does the job, it is slow, and I required two-sided scanning. capability to scan both sides br>br>The DS-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The number 530 is now available. At this point, it has exceeded my expectations in terms of speed and alignment of scans. So far, there has only been one jam, which was caused by a rough bent over edge on the page. The process of getting out of the jam and getting back on track was quick and painless. Customer service is a drawback, as is the need to download the software. The Epson DS-2000 is a printer that is capable of producing high-quality The 530 does not come with drivers; you must download them, which takes a long time. I downloaded and installed the software, but the scanner would not start. I called customer service and spoke with them for 45 minutes, only to have the software uninstalled and reinstalled. (This will take some time). Even after downloading the software a second time, I couldn't get the scanner to work. I called Customer Support once more, and this time I spent over an hour on the phone with them. I could tell the representative was helping other customers at the same time, and I had to remind her of my problem and ask her to pay attention to me several times. Furthermore, Epson's phone connections were abysmal. My problem took more than an hour to fix. br>br>I'm not sure why Epson decided not to include software. . . I think it was a bad decision, and it's the sole reason I gave my review a low rating. In addition to the Customer Service experience, I spent nearly 2 hours trying to resolve my issue, and that doesn't include the time I spent downloading the software twice. br>br>I would recommend this product for its performance at this time, but the jury is still out in terms of overall experience over time; however, I'm pretty happy with my choice at this time.
