The radio I have is really good. In terms of the most useful feature, I love the built-in GPS, but more about Although I only needed to plug in my antenna and attach two crimp on wire plugs to the power wires, it was very easy to install. My favorite feature of the 16 priority button is how easy it is to go back to 16 after switching channels. In addition to the channels, my favorite thing about the mic is the buttons. You can scroll through the digital channel display very easily and read it very easily as you change Although it doesn't seem like much trouble, my last radio wasn't very helpful at all in this regard. This radio has a scan feature I haven't yet learned about, but I have used it in the past on other radios. GPS-enabled, it also has 2 GB of internal storage. As a result of not having fixed electronic components in my boat, this feature proves to be extremely handy for me. In the past, I used phone apps, but now I listen to the radio all day and all night. Having this feeling of safety will make family members feel safer if they need to call for help one day. Also, I was able to receive an MMSI number through my membership at Boat US. A link is made between our boat information and emergency contact information with the radio when I input the radio's mmsi number. As far as I understand, the radio will broadcast our boat information and our latitude and longitude automatically if we hit the emergency mayday button. This product has been very easy to install and do not cost a lot. Only problem so far is that it cannot be set to the time. I think it should be able to be set by the GPS since it's tied to the time. In order to receive my correct time, I must select UTC or local time. UTC is the time zone in Europe as it is what is referred to as Greenwich Mean Time.
In any case, the product is great.
Many of my horizon radios have been standard models. A great value for the money.
We didn't buy, we worked for seven months, and we stopped.
Your money will be saved. It was horrible listening to the It doesn't work properly when you turn it on or off. It is extremely annoying to have to go through the start up routine. This is junk! Instead of buying the ICOM radio, I should have purchased the COMlink.
This vhf radio has GPS capabilities. The GPS does not need to be connected externally. If you are a Boat US member, you do not need to register the radio with MMSI. The cost is $25 but if you are not, it is It is easy to use the radio I am still trying to learn everything that it has to offer. In the event that you are replacing a Standard Horizon that was flush mounted in your dash, the old mounting brackets will fit this radio as well.
It was a great item at a great price and it came fast.
The value for money was good.
