Although the radio seemed functional, it was useless since I didn't know what channel I was on nor could I see any GPS information. Cobra was contacted, and as someone said, they have the worst customer service. I have to start searching for a new radio because "it's been so long" since I returned it to them. I won't be able to take advantage of any warranty service because the radio is junk to me at this point.

A display that hasn't been working for 3 months no longer works. It is still operable, but there is no way to tell if the radio is tuned to a certain station without the display. As a result, the radio can no longer be used. Taking the advice of Cobra, I've made contact with them. It will be interesting to see how they deal with this issue. Update

The radio was repaired by Cobra and sent back to the customer. We are now able to use it fully. As far as the repair experience is concerned, the only issue I had was that I had to pay for shipping for it to them, and then I had to keep in contact with them about its progress. Even if they repeatedly tell you that they will contact you, they will never do so. I found customer service to be very pleasant to deal with each time I called. It's worth noting that the customer service department is completely separate from the department that handles repairs. As a result, some communication issues have been detected I think we can learn something from this. You should contact them every other day to find out how things are going. You can expect them to arrive soon.

As a whole, I like this radio because it's capable of receiving WX bands, which is excellent, and the communication quality is great. The only issue I have is that the internal GPS is not able to pick up satellites more than 95 percent of the time. It will start beeping after a few minutes or so to alert me when it cannot find satellites.

I was able to install NMEA 0183 quickly and it provides seamless connectivity to my Humminbird GPS Simple to use, displays channel information on screen, scans, an upgrade from my Standard Horizon Eclipse (which I couldn't use the DSC function since it couldn't pick up GPS coordinates from a Humminbird for some reason.

I was able to install it easily and the directions were clear. My goal is to learn all the features that this program has to offer. It sounded like an annoying noise and came with a warning, but I couldn't figure out what it was. The problem had to do with the "plotter. " It was difficult to understand. As I had it mounted low on the boat in a cabinet, I thought to myself that maybe it did not have as clear a view as I would like. The next time I visit After mounting it so that at least the warning and noise were better seen in the sky, the warning and noise went away. In order to give it five stars, I would have given it five stars if it were easier to diagnose the warning (printed in the manual).

It is difficult to read the lcd even when the contrast is on maximum. Only two attempts are allowed per day for your numbers to be downloaded by the Coast Guard Monitoring System. Once you have reprogrammed the unit, you will have to send it back to Cobra. The software has to be uninstalled. The hand held phone does not permit selection the user can only send or receive. I can't see what channel you are watching.
