My 2000 Avalon came with an original radio that I installed in this unit. Despite the high temperatures, the party was great With the JBL end-to-end with the preamp that came with the car, it has been working fine for years.

The product fit very nicely in my 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor after I drilled four very small pilot holes and then screwed it down with four self-tapping Then I pulled out the screws to test the side panel alignment, then I connected the cables with some crimp-on connectors, and then I tested it to make sure it was receiving a proper signal with the radio. I put a thick bead of Silicone around the inside edge of the speaker before putting it back in to keep it in place, because this vehicle has a Factory Sealed Fender Enclosure. So I gave the silicone a couple minutes to "set up" so that when I tilted it to insert it, the silicone wouldn't run everywhere. Once it was screwed in place and the silicone had set up a little, I kept the screws a little loose at first, then I put in several different CDs to tune the bass response as I slowly tightened the screws up, sampling the different CDs and listening to This is a better sounding amplifier by a long shot, and it has even more punch, and I am still using the stock power amplifier. It would not be possible for me to be.
The passenger seat has three removable cushions with storage compartments beneath, so I used the two compartments on either side of it as enclosures to install these subwoofers. I'm running them through a class D Pioneer amplifier. There is a lot of movement and great sound, and the speakers sound great. Rather than sounding muddy, they have a punchy tone and a fairly low bass. Very pleased with the quality for the price. Couldn't believe how good they sound for how expensive they are. A modified version of this article was posted on Monday, July 7, 2015. After looking and thinking about what I could do to make these subs sound better, I found out that the compartments under my rear boat seats that became the enclosures had a lot of The fact that they had air leaks was obvious from the beginning, but I seem to have underestimated their extent. The importance of enclosures did not become clear to me until after I had sealed all of them up and connected the extra ports to tune them to about 40hz. What a difference these subs have made! There is nothing I can do but admire the quality of their sound and how loud they can get without distortion. Some of it might be due to the fact that the drivers are connected to a quality Pioneer sub-amp, but they sound great for what I paid. It is easy to set these up correctly, so you won't be let down!.
It sounds like what I had hoped for. The price is worth it even if there is not a superboom.
