A tee and a cable are required if your engine communicates with your gauges via NMEA 2000. Remember to attach the resister to the tee's end.
The T- A drop cable is connected to the backbone using a connector. A display or sensor is connected to the drop cable. The backbone could continue on the other side of the T, or it could come to a halt at a terminator.
The T has one male side and one female side for connecting to the backbone cables. The female connector at the top of the T connects to a drop cable.

It really works. It was used in conjunction with a Simrad Go9 display.
I bought this to use as a backbone for my Simrad units' NMEA 2000 communication. The item was delivered quickly and is in excellent condition.
This was fantastic. It worked perfectly, with no problems at all; simply plug it in and you're ready to go.
This NMEA 2000 tee was purchased to supplement my existing NMEA backbone. The build quality is subpar when compared to the existing backbone tees, and the connectors are untrustworthy. Because I won't be using it in my system, I can't vouch for how well it works.
It's simple to set up and use, and it works without a hitch.
It performs as expected and appears to be well constructed.
It's exactly what I requested, and it accomplishes its goal. We used it when our main branch ran out of room and we needed to expand our system with another Simrad Go7 unit.
