Garmin seized the opportunity to replace my Lawrence Hook 7 in, and I made the final decision after a lot of investigation. The number of complaints from Garmin users was lower than from Lawrence and Hummingbird users. My old Lawrence home theater was 7 inches in diameter, so this 9inch unit is about the same size as my old one. The touch screen can be used or buttons can be used. With sonar, navigation, downscan and side scan, as well as a new look for accuracy, it comes with a wide array of features. These options allow you to do an incredibly wide range of things that are user-friendly and will change the way you fish forever. It is very easy to use, and it is equipped with very good lake maps. You do not need to purchase When you need to update the map and software, you can do it through Active Captain, an App associated with Garmin. In order to do so, you will need a micro SD card. You can also use it if you are at a smaller lake not included in the unit's maps. If you want to continue using it in the future, you can map it yourself to the SD card. It includes the time of day and the battery voltage, which is nice. Actually, there are other things on the screen, such as the water temperature and boat speed. This is a good unit and so far it hasn't caused any problems for me. There is no doubt that this unit is worth its price since it comes with the best transducer and maps. Buy a product only after you have carefully read whats included. It's possible to find variations of the same thing that don't have everything you desire.
It has other warnings, but none for I am saddened by the fact that I have to use another device to warn me when I am near shallow water.
A friend of mine used the first one last summer and it was great. My boat had to be winterized before I could use the second one, so it was installed by the people who did In the past, I paid $1049 for each of these monitors, and now they are selling I am a former Humminbird user who recently switched to Garmin and have been advocating for them among those in the market for a monitor. I have a bad taste in my mouth now! Henceforth, I will not be buying any more Garmin monitors.
However, shipping time took longer than the seller promised at the time of I received the package after 20 days.
The two quick disconnect cradles it came with allowed me to pick and choose between my fishing boat, pontoon boat, and ice fishing boat setups. In the winter and in the summer, I use this head unit. Both boats work great with transducers, and the panoptix is the best ice fishing tool of all time. The map of the lake is awesome.
The dealer installed it for me. I'm really happy with how user-friendly this product is. Our trip is on a new lake that we don't know well so maps are very helpful. I still have a lot to learn about reading side views. I bought another one to keep the front of the boat looking good. It is a good fit for our needs to have 9 in.
