Hello,br>This speaker system has the best sounding portable Bluetooth speaker I've ever heard or owned, as well as a lot of volume. My issue was that it abruptly stopped working about six months after I purchased it. I contacted Altec Lansing and was given instructions on how to reset it, which I followed. It was over in a matter of minutes. After that, I didn't get any more help from them, so I had to throw it away in BRAND NEW CONDITION, aside from the quitting. It had never been dropped or wet, and it appeared as if I had just bought it. They didn't seem to care when I called their customer service number, which irritated me greatly. Because of financial concerns, I had to wait several years before purchasing one, and when I did, I was very pleased with it. I'd heard it for several years before purchasing it and decided to wait instead of purchasing a less expensive version. "We're not wealthy enough to buy cheap items," a relative once told me. It made sense because if I bought the right one instead of the wrong one, I wouldn't have to buy one again. That was a huge blunder. When it comes to audio, I've never heard a smaller one like it.
Walmart has a Target store where you can buy your brand of bicycle.
It can be any small USB charger. As a result, any Android or small USB charger will work to power this speaker.

It can take a while to reconnect, and there's no clear indication of when the battery is about to die or what its current status is. I also wish it could be recharged via USB instead of the proprietary charger. br>br>NEW UPDATES: br>br>NEW UPDATES: br>br> I deducted a point. This morning, the speaker abruptly came to a halt. It has lost contact with my phone and will not reconnect, nor will it respond to any combination or sequence of button presses. As a result, it has become stuck on and I am unable to turn it off. It's also beginning to get hot. So, since I couldn't babysit it, I moved it outside, where the risk of the battery overheating and causing a fire was lower, and I'll see what happens once the battery has discharged and I recharge it. This appears to be a common problem with Altec's Bluetooth speakers, based on what I've read. I'll give you another update once it's been resolved. UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: br>br>NEXT UPDATED: Another star is being taken away. The problem of it cutting out and not responding to anything has resurfaced. It was only a few days ago that it happened again. My smaller version had the same experience a few days ago. So, this appears to be a problem with the while product line; since my window for getting it replaced through Amazon has closed, I'm going to contact Altec support; I'll update once I speak with them. br>br>Update number three: Altec support provided me with a procedure for resetting it, which was one of the procedures I discovered while looking for a solution. So, no big surprises or help from tech support; once the above problem arises, you must wait for the battery to die, then recharge it before performing the reset. They don't appear to be able to update the firmware, and I've found no consistency in the problem. It happens on both this and my smaller version of the speaker.
He is a terrible public speaker. We've now used two different speakers, both of whom have had the same problem. Within the first 30 days, the sound is turned off. They were never dropped or wet, and even if they were, it shouldn't have been a problem because they're supposed to be shock and water resistant. My husband had a mini life jacket that he loved and used on deployment, so we assumed the larger one would be of similar, if not better, quality. Not in the least. I'm going to try to get a refund from Altec Lansing.
I mean, it's terrible. Okay, I'd use curse words and make analogies to parts of something, but I'd be censored. Let's cut it to the chase: I ordered it, and it failed after five days. After three days, a replacement was sent, but it failed. Number 1 came back to life after some tinkering in accordance with internet and altec instructions, but number 2 (the replacement) did not. Number one died for the second time after 5 days. br>br>I own a LifeJacket 2, which is fantastic. I mount it on my quad, ride through water and mud, and clean the dry mud with a pressure washer (on low, of course), and it's worked flawlessly since 2016. br>br>So, this device is an OMG electronic Po- a little something It has a good acoustics. More bass can be found in an Altec Charge 3. br>br>I'm not one to write negative reviews, but this is truly awful.
When I was considering buying this speaker, I noticed that there were a lot of negative reviews, but I had previously owned an altec lansing speaker and had no problems with it, so I decided to take a chance. I bought the speaker to take on a trip, so I brought it in the day before I left and tested it out for 5 minutes. However, when I arrived at my destination and attempted to connect, the speaker refused to work at all. Even though the power was turned on, it never opened "welcome to altec lansing" or anything else. It wouldn't pair with my phone or do anything but charge it. I was extremely dissatisfied, and when I contacted altec, they informed me that it was a bad situation. I should have listened to the other reviews because it appears that this model is a dud. I'm returning the item and won't be purchasing another of this model in the future. It appears to be a faulty model that should not be sold or offered on Amazon, in my opinion.
I only had two days to play with it. br>On the first day, I tested it, and there was an annoying scratching sound when I played music. br>On the second day, it played for about a half hour before going dead. I plugged it in to charge, but the indicator light never came on, and that was the last time the speaker came on. br>I attempted to contact customer service, but it was unavailable.
I listen to music on a variety of systems, some of which are considered audiophile. *The clarity of this Altec Lansing is not up to par with what I would expect from the brand. If audio quality is your primary concern, the full retail price is a little disappointing. The price, on the other hand, is justified for a tough speaker that can go just about anywhere. You're paying for the toughness and decibel levels it can produce. Perhaps the secret is in the equalizer app, but it has such a low rating on Google Play that I'd rather use a third-party equalizer. *edit: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> I've had the speaker for a few days now, and it appears that the sound needed to be cleaned up. I'm not sure if it was the few recharges or if playing at a loud (but not distorting) volume level that brought the speaker back to life. It's a little clearer than it was when it came out of the box, and it's been charged overnight. The bass bloat has faded to the point where it is no longer audible in the mids, and the highs have improved slightly. Again, it's possible that the battery required a few recharges or that the speaker required some play time to open up, but the sound quality has improved significantly. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars. 5 stars due to the fact that it is still a costly speakerbr>br>2nd edit: Despite the fact that the audio quality is the same as my first impressions, I have used this speaker until it is completely depleted. Many other Bluetooth speakers of this size can't compete with the battery life of this one.
