I was absolutely blown away by the sound quality of the speakers. Then I left for a few months later. I have owned these speakers only two months and the sound of one of them now sounds tinny and crackles. There has not been any misuse of the speakers, no blasting of music or movies has occurred. Monoprice has never responded to my requests to find a replacement speaker (because only one is not working right) and I haven't been able to reach out to them of any options. If possible, I would like to avoid buying an entire new set of speakers, and I would rather not introduce a speaker other than monoprice into this surround sound system since in my opinion it will look clunky. A UPDATE In response to our repeated attempts to contact Monoprice, they have told us that they do not replace individual speakers. It's unfortunate that if one speaker goes bad you are out of an entire system unless you want to mix up many speakers of different brands. It has only been two months since I first used this speaker and one is faulty. The situation is not good.

We blew two speakers within six months, and we are not very loud listeners. Because we live in an apartment, we are always wary of being too loud. This last month, they just recently returned back in stock after being out of stock for a long time. Having been happy with the last set, I promptly ordered a second set for my theater. Honestly, I am more than happy. Although there are some differences, there are some similarities as well. There is a material difference between the drivers, or perhaps they are made of a material entirely different from the drivers themselves. A few of the speakers were already separated from the black laminate when they were first opened. A new logo has been designed. Not great and because of the new driver colors, it does not look as nice without the grills on. A lackluster performance. In my opinion, this system leaves a lot to be desired. In spite of this, I am extremely impressed with Monoprice as an organization. Upon arrival, the speakers did not work and the subwoofer did not work either. My email to the company caused them to be extremely responsive and I promptly received another subwoofer that would not power on unless I jiggled the power wire and then held it in position for a few seconds. Therefore, another subwoofer was sent out to me. Movies do not have a powerful boom or punch to the sound. These two subwoofers are sitting in my garage since they did not want them back. It is not likely that I would again order this package, but I think Monoprice is a reliable company and that they are.
