Questions & Answers

What is the wattage of your system?

Sony won't answer because of their stance on speaker ratings, but I'm guessing 250-300. Turn this speaker up to 80 watts if you have 300 watts of power. 90 and you might bring a very angry neighbor as well as the law with you. Note: Artificial bass radiators are not used in the 700. The massive woofers used in this system produce a lot of bass. It's crisp and powerful!

Is there an echo or reverb effect built in?

Thank you for your question, Sunita Chhetri.br>br> The SRS XP700 does not come with built-in reverb, but you can add it using the Sony Music Center app on your connected device.br>br>Hope this helps,br>br>Romeo

Do you have the ability to connect a record player to your system?

Thank you for contacting us, James. Yes, this unit works with devices that support the A2DP Bluetooth profile; check the specifications of your record player to see if it supports the profile. If your record player/turntable has a built-in phono preamp, you can use an audio cable to connect it to the speaker's AUDIO IN jack. I hope this has been of assistance. ~Earl

There is a lack of volume
3/5

The sound quality is absolutely incredible. The volume, on the other hand, does not rise to a very high level. I'm a swim coach, and my kids always complain about not being able to hear me. That shouldn't be an issue with a 350-dollar speaker. Especially since it's so large.

It's way too expensive
3/5

When running only on battery it sounds good but it loses 30% volume when running only on battery it sounds good but it loses 30% It wasn't worth it for the price, so I went to Walmart and purchased a (onn. ) brand that Walmart sells sounds just as good, is much louder, and has all of the same features as the other brands. There is an AM/FM radio built into the unit. The Walmart brand was only 130 dollars, which is a great deal for a product that sounds just as good and is louder.

The speaker is very portable
5/5

It produces sound of excellent quality. I purchased this speaker a week ago and wanted to give myself the opportunity to test it out, and it does not disappoint! Some argue that it isn't loaded enough, but I believe it is in most cases. Outside, it loses a little punch, as do most boom boxes, but the sound quality is excellent. The bass is a nice touch that gives the impression that the music is being performed live. For both quality and volume, I give this speaker two thumbs up. For me and my party, the light show it puts on is an added bonus. I would purchase it again and tell my friends about it.

It is, without a doubt, the best in its class
5/5

I was looking for a replacement for my old component stereo and wired speakers at my backyard pool, so I looked at the Bose, JBL, and this Sony. I was able to test all three in store and decided on the Sony 700, which was very close to the Bose, JBL, and this Sony. It wasn't until I got the Sony home that I realized the difference. This is a very loud and clear sound. I had high hopes, but this product exceeds my expectations. Of course, I had to hear how loud it was outside, and the neighbors had to inquire as to what was making that noise. br>br>On the Battery Life, I gave it four stars because I haven't had it long enough to comment. I'll provide an update once I have a better understanding of the battery usage. br>br>I must say, this Sony has wowed me. I usually go with Bose, but I didn't on this occasion, and the technology in this system is far superior to that of my old component system. br>br>When it arrived at my house, it was shipped by Amazon and arrived quickly and undamaged. VERY HAPPY BR>BR>VERY HAPPY BR>VERY HAPPY BR>VERY HAPPY BR>VERY H.

A sound that is both robust and appealing
4/5

This was a Christmas gift to my wife. She works in a small school as a music teacher and vocal director. Every year, she hosts a musical as well as other musical-related events. things that are related For rehearsals, she previously used a tiny pill-style speaker. During rehearsals, that old speaker wouldn't even come close to filling the auditorium, and the house speakers are frequently unavailable for various reasons during rehearsal hours. br>br>I bought it for her because it has a microphone, guitar/keyboard input, Bluetooth audio, and a long battery life. This is a lot closer to the auditorium speakers in terms of sound, so her students will be able to "practice like they play" a little more. br>br>This speaker comes with a slew of options, including some sound customization. This speaker, based on my wife's reaction, will do pretty much anything she asks. This includes a PA system, speakers for rehearsals and performances, as well as music and entertainment for the home. In addition, the battery life on this device is excellent in real-world use. br>br>It appears to be in good condition. He's well-built and weighs in at around 38 pounds. As a result, I purchased a dolly for my wife. To make transportation easier, use a collapsible luggage carrier in style. br>br>On the SRS-, the sound is In general, the XP700 is excellent. The equilibrium is quite good. In a standard room, the sound stage is fairly consistent and full, and it also fills a large space or outdoors admirably. She also appears to be content with the dynamics. br>br>Overall, I think it was a good buy for her, and I'd buy it again.

It is not compatible with older Ipods
4/5

It doesn't work on my older iPad, which contains the majority of my music. Also, at this price point, I would have liked more features, such as the ability to work with an SD card, a thumb drive, or an external hard drive, and the ability to play music from two or more devices. However, you can't lock out devices that don't want to play music, which means that someone could take over your playlist. br>The sound quality is excellent. It's not only loud, but it's also clear and loud. Even at low volumes, the sound from other speakers becomes muddy. This speaker can play at a high volume while maintaining excellent separation. The JBL is said to be louder. It's the equivalent of claiming that a corvette is faster. This is the loudest speaker you'll ever need, and the sound quality is never compromised.
