Selected User Reviews For Sony SRS-XG500 X-Series Wireless Portable-Bluetooth Party-Speaker IP66 Water-Resistant and Dustproof with 30 Hour-Battery
I've had this speaker for about two months, and the fabric covering it has already ripped slightly after only two weeks. And the side-cap came off with it. I can't seem to locate the side cap, and Sony's Parts Department doesn't have one on hand. These issues aren't covered by the warranty because the damage isn't to the speaker's functionality, and there's nothing they can do about it. I can cover the costs of shipping and service, but Sony does not. Although the sound and bass are excellent, it simply does not hold up when marketed as a highly durable outdoor speaker.
There isn't a lot of space in there.
We had a lot of fun with our Sony XG- 500 for use on our deck and in the yard, with plenty of volume and great sound. It's possible that it's the best-sounding Sony Bluetooth speaker I've ever heard - It sounded a lot better than the Sony 360 Reality audio, which was a lot more expensive. So, why did we send it back? br>br> It simply wasn't loud enough for what we needed. to provide musical accompaniment at our daughter's softball games As a result, while it sounded great, the other team's speaker usually drowned it out to the point where we couldn't hear our own music. Please keep in mind that playing music at a softball game is probably the most difficult task that a portable Bluetooth speaker can face. The open space necessitates a massive amount of energy - br>br>Notes- It's difficult for a rechargeable speaker to deliver the required wattage while also maintaining a reasonable battery life. br>br>
- This speaker sounded amazing on our back deck. It sounded great, had good bass, and was a great performer.
- The Bluetooth functionality was different. It was simple to pair. We had no problems with it dropping while on our deck. However, when we were on the softball field and needed to play the speaker on a regular basis, the connection would drop. This was the icing on the cake, and we had no choice but to return the speaker.
- In wide open areas. If you're close to the speaker, it'll work just fine. as close as 30 feet However, in a large open space, it simply lacks the punch to be heard. br>br>- The battery life appeared to be very good.
- One note. You lose approximately 5% of your top-selling items When you change to battery mode, the volume will be turned off. We tried connecting the speaker to a large external battery source (120 V with a 100W output) to combat this, but it wasn't loud enough. br>br>Final judgment - We would have been happy with this speaker for most applications, but it simply did not meet our requirements. If you're looking for something to do inside or in the backyard, I believe you'll be satisfied.
It's a good-sounding speaker. It's well-made, and it's Sony, so you know what to expect in terms of quality, and the battery life is excellent. For a better battery, you'll need a better charger. A nice touch is the addition of side accent lights.
Get it!.
However, I had a problem with the speaker turning back on after it had been turned off. It's unclear whether the speaker's problem was due to software or hardware. It was quickly replaced by Sony. It's been all smiles since then. The speaker is blaring with great music. br>br>The speaker is heavy, but unlike some previous Sony speakers, it comes with a sturdy handle for carrying it to and from the pool. br>br>Excellent work.
In a portable system, the bass has the best sound. It reminds me of my old JVC boom box from the late 1990s, which was both heavy and powerful. Unfortunately, even with the app's equalizer controls set to maximum, the highs are limited to compensate for the deep bass.
Amazing!.
