Sonos One (Gen 2) Two Room Set Voice Controlled Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa Built in (2-Pack White)

Despite the fact that these are genuine Sonos speakers, the claim that they are fully integrated with Alexa is false. Only Alexa's native features, such as smart home, are supported by the speaker. These speakers do not support nearly all of the third-party skills that a regular Echo does. Even manually added skills will not be activated when commanded. The speaker simply sits and listens, and then does nothing. There are a lot of complaints about this in the Sonos user forums as well. It's disappointing that Sonons would release such an incomplete product or mislead users in this manner. With that said, I'll keep them because I primarily use them for music and home automation, but the product currently does not merit more than two stars. I'd be happy to come back and update the review if Sonos resolves these issues.

I got two Sonos Ones from Amazon the other day. br>$379 for two without shipping or sales tax - I was able to save around $50 compared to what I would have paid at my local Bestbuy. br>br>I installed the Sonos app on my wife's and mybr>android phones. The app's setup was menu-driven, and there wasn't much to it other than answering a few questions and letting the app handle the rest. br>br>I paired the living room and bedroom speakers so that they both play the same music at the same time, which was the main reason I bought them (my wife wanted to listen to Pandora while doing stuff or getting ready for whatever). br>br>The sound quality of the One's is noticeably better than the original 1's, in my opinion, and well worth the extra $30. Each speaker will be charged $50. br>Both Google Play and Amazonbr>Alexa support voice control with The Ones. I didn't set up voice control because I don't use either and I don't want my tech listening to me while I'm waiting for a command; if I want to know what the temperature is outside, I'll look at a thermometer, not my speakers. br>br>The app takes some getting used to, so I printed out a cheat sheet for my wife from the Sonos website that explains the icons and controls. br>br>It was simple to load iHeart and Pandora because I only had to enter mybr>user name and passwords for those services, and they were automatically added to my list of available "services. " On Pandora, we have about ten music lists, and once you select one on the app, you can choose which one you want to play from your saved lists. Similarly to the Pandora app on the televisions. br>br>There was also the option to listen to music from my phone, which I took advantage of. ,br>On my phone, I have a lot of music. I had assumed that thisbr>option was not available, but perhaps there has been a softwarebr>update, which Sonos seems to do on a regular basis. br>br>Perhaps most importantly, my wife adores them, so happy wife, happy life; I was perfectly content with my LG Atmosbr>sound bar. My wife didn't like the Sony TV Pandora app (and neither do I), so she wanted music in the bedroom and master bath. Done and dusted for $379.

The app up (for IOS) isn't very good. Summary:
- Sound: Decent. It takes up a lot of space, especially when there are two of them.
- Streaming Music: Easy!
- Assistant with a voice: Mixed. Alexa is an excellent performer in every way. The Android version of Google Assistant is excellent. For IOS - best of luck br>br>Getting The One out of the box wasn't difficult. I started with iOS and was able to quickly get the Sonos app up and running, as well as connect it to my favorite audio streaming service. It's also simple to pair R with the other One. It is simple to perform music. Until I played a few bass-heavy songs, the sound was pretty good. Then there are the heavy tracks, which aren't so great. However, given the size of the woofer, this isn't surprising. All good. br>br>After that, I tried to add Google, my favorite voice assistant. After numerous attempts on multiple iOS devices, as well as resets and re-installations, I sought assistance via Twitter (which I dislike). They responded quickly, but after a few exchanges, they acknowledged the problem but did not offer a solution. I had forgotten about an old Android device, so I downloaded the Sonos App and quickly set up the Google Assistant. And it's now working on my iPhone and iPad. I tried to install Alexa via IOS as part of this, and it worked fine. br>br>I also had a lot of fun trying to set up the second speaker for someone else using a new Sonos ID. Strangely, once you've signed into the Sonos app with a user ID, you can't simply log out and sign in again. You can sign out, but when you return to the app, you'll only be able to enter the password for the current user ID. Delete the app and reinstall it to fix the problem. br>br>Now that I've got everything set up (a One with an SL and a separate One), everything appears to be working fine. Easy out- the- What is the procedure for installing the box? No, it's not true. I find it quite aggravating. However, if I had used Alexa and/or an Android device, it would have likely been a much more satisfying experience right out of the box. I recommend that you have some technical knowledge and patience, especially if you're using Google Assistant on an iOS device.

We have 10 Sonos speakers in our home, including 5s, 3s, 1s, a soundbar, and a base - (It's obvious that you enjoy it. ) We purchased the Gen 3 (Alexa interface) for our parents (who are in their seventies) to make it easier for them to listen to music. While the Sonos app is simple to use, the Alexa app makes it even simpler, and they enjoy it. They can pair speakers or play separately, and Alexa still answers all of their questions. The only drawback is that Alexa currently lacks the abilities of the Gen 2 in terms of routines, i. e. "Good morning, Alexa," says the narrator. Turn on the lights, read me the news and the weather forecast, and turn on NRP in the bedroom. Is it likely to be included in the next Alexa update?.

Without it, I wouldn't be able to live! I adore my Sonos speakers, and I now have five of them. They have excellent sound quality. It's a little pricey, but you're paying for the technology and the ease with which it can be set up and controlled. This is the system for you if you want an integrated sound system that you can control without interrupting your phone calls. This is the way sound systems will be in the future. Is it possible for me to purchase shares?.
