The HEOS 5 HS2 (Series 2) is the model in question. Because it replaced the original HEOS 5 Series 1 speaker, it is referred to as the "new version." Denon North America, thank you very much.
I have both the HEOS 7 and the HEOS 5 and use them in my entire home music system. If they're connected to a PC and shared as a network drive via the app, or if the USB drive is plugged into your receiver and used as a source, you can play music from it. The speakers themselves have a USB port, but I've never used it to play music directly (though it should work, to the best of my knowledge, because the manual says it's supported). You'll be controlling everything with the HEOS app, which has improved over time. I hope this helps!
Denon has not released technical specifications for the HEOS 5 amplifiers, but each speaker contains four Class D amplifiers, one for each driver. I'm guessing they're in the tens of thousands. 20 watts per amp, but that's just a guess.
The battery in the Denon HEOS 5 is not rechargeable.

br>I've been on hold for over an hour. They claim that they had to cut staff because of covid. They did not, however, reduce the price. br>br>I purchased two of them, and neither of them will connect to the app. br>I've installed them before because I have them at home and they work fine, but these were for my office. br>br>I may have to return because they don't answer their phones. Today, I've been on hold for several hours and they keep hanging up on me.
I finally ordered the Denon HEOS 5 Wireless Speaker over the Sonos equivalent after a lot of research and hemming and hawing, and after using it extensively, I can honestly say it is well worth the (significant) money. This is a well-made speaker that can easily fill a medium-sized room with sound. sized room, even when half-filled volume. For the price, you'd expect a high-quality build and sound, and that's exactly what you'll get. I'm already planning on purchasing the soundbar as well as at least one additional 5. The extra USB and Line In input ports were what drew me away from the Sonos. Even though Denon has promised and then withdrawn Google Cast support, plugging in a Google Cast Audio is a good workaround. Keep in mind that Google Cast Audio will only cast to that single speaker and not to the rest of your system. Just thought I'd throw something out there. The only issue I had was with the initial setup. br>br> I tried to use my Nexus 6, which requires connecting a cable to the phone/speaker in order to connect to your wireless network, but it refused. I'd had the same issue with another Wifi-connected device, so I switched to my Fire Tablet, and the setup was nearly instantaneous after that. The app itself isn't terrible, but it's also not great. It'll do the job, but the user interface and streaming services available are lacking. There is no support for Google Play Music, and Amazon Prime Music is just that: you can't access your Amazon Music cloud library right now. Hopefully, this will be addressed at some point in the future. Overall, I enjoy the sound quality of the speaker and am looking forward to expanding my system to fill the entire house.
This speaker refused to connect to my wireless network. I unplugged all of my other heos speakers and was able to reconnect all of them except this one. I returned it, and a replacement was supposed to arrive soon. It had been a few weeks. It has already been returned to the seller, according to UPS.
The Heos App had no way of connecting to this device. Please do not waste your time. I tried it on a few different phones. It's simply not going to work out. I use Wi- I have a Wi-Fi connection, but it takes three attempts to connect, and I have to restart my phone on occasion. The sound is excellent, but I would not have bought it if I had known.
It's connected to a Denon avr x4400h receiver. Although the compatibility and Android app features are excellent, the sound quality is only average.
Great wi- a hi-fi speaker I'd like to see HEOS come out with a rechargeable version.
I'm very happy.
