The 255C-related hole in the wall that you make, William. 13 1/8" x 7 5/8" is the size of the RT. Outside of the wall cavity, the dimension you listed is the overall face frame. With your 16" o/c studs, you should have no problems. I own this speaker and love it. Each must be set up and installed separately. Best of luck!
It will fit between regular studs in the wall, but it is nearly 10" deep, so you'll need to know that measurement. Is the space between the studs where you want to put the speaker deeper than 10 inches? I placed mine below the TV, which is above the fireplace, so I could work with an "open wall."
This speaker is currently being used as the center channel for two Dolby 5 home theaters. These speakers appeal to me greatly.
Place the left and right speakers at the same height as the television, and the center channel as close to the television as possible. The 14-foot distance should be no problem depending on how much amplification you use. Surround speakers should be placed at the same height as the front speakers. Even at a low volume, my music sounds fantastic.

It looks and sounds great, but the grill rattles and my speakers disintegrated after only a few weeks of use. br>br>After initial installation, I was very pleased with how they looked and sounded, though there are some issues with the 255c-series. I listened to my Polk Vanishing services for six months. I had an annoying rattle during bassy parts of movies (and throughout music, though I rarely listen to music in my theater room), and it was annoying. At first, I thought the rattling noises were coming from pictures on the wall or small items near my subwoofer, but after removing the covers from my front three speakers, I realized the rattling noises were coming from the grilles. The speaker covers are magnetic, but the magnets aren't strong enough to keep them on flush and securely; They're loose and vibrate, causing unwanted noise, but when I removed the center cover to figure out what was causing the rattle, I discovered a second issue: The tweeter cap thingys (I'm not sure what they're called technically) shattered on the floor. They'd clearly broken off during the first six months of use and were just waiting to fall out once the cover was removed. I contacted both Amazon and Polk, who informed me that the warranty was only good for a year and that I would have to pay to have them fixed. The fact that I had only used them for six months does not appear to be a problem for the manufacturer. that the speakers disintegrated after 2 to 6 months of use, and that the only way I found out was by talking through the grilles to figure out what was causing the rattling; It is an issue that I have! Sending them back to New Zealand for repair would be prohibitively expensive, so I'll probably wait until the next issue arises before replacing it, though I'm unlikely to buy another 255c- RT, to be sure. Polk has refused to send me a replacement speaker despite the fact that I have purchased dozens of Polk speakers. So now I have to use my speakers with the covers off in order to see the faulty center, and if you look closely around the speakers, paint has chipped off the wall in places as a result of removing the covers. These could, in my opinion, be made so that they do not cause damage to walls.
To be honest, I liked how dual 5 made it look. The mid-twenty-fives appeared to be a good choice. But it didn't sound as cool as I had hoped; it wasn't as clear and clean as I had hoped (despite the fact that I was coming from a Martin Logan motion 6, which is worth its weight in gold). During punching or fighting scenes, I also turned up the volume, causing the speakers to pop. In case you're curious, I'm using an older (Marantz 5010 7. ) power supply. 2) If you're just getting started, I'd say this is definitely a beginner center, so if you're just getting started with surround sound, give it a shot; however, if you're replacing a center channel and your current or old center isn't cutting it anymore, this isn't the center for you. Also, I'm not criticizing polk because I continue to use two 265 - After that, I suppose it just depends on your pocket and ear. RT as my L and R front speakers.
1 surround sound system built into the wall or ceiling. The speakers and receiver I bought are as follows: Polk Audio 255C- Polk Audio 255C- Polk Audio 255C- Polk Audio 255C Polk 265- RT (Center)br> LS x 2 (Front Sides)polk 80F/X- LS x 2 (Front Sides)polk 80F/X- LS x 2 (Front Sides)polk 80F RT x 4 (Surround and Surround Back)br>Polk HTS 12 (Subwoofer)br>Denon AVR-2000 (Denon AVR-2000, Denon AVR-2000, Denon AVR-2000, Denon AVR-2000, Denon AVR-2000, Denon AVR-2000, Denon x3600H (Receiver)br>br>While it's difficult to give each speaker a separate review, the system as a whole performs admirably. They have a good sound right out of the box. One of my main concerns was how well mixing and matching LS and RT into the same speaker setup would sound. After you've got your initial sound setup configured (Audyssey if you're using a newer Denon receiver), tweak the crossovers and play around with other options - Once you've got the right setup, these speakers sound fantastic. If you want to get the most out of these speakers, make sure you set them up correctly and tweak them to your preferences. The front and center channels were mounted on the wall, while the surround and surround back speakers were suspended from the ceiling. Installing these is a breeze. The layout of your speakers and possibly running speaker wire will take up the majority of your time.
wired for surround sound – sound, as well as a co-worker These speakers came highly recommended by a coworker who used to work as a musician. I purchased a home with a regular-sized yard. (It's all right. ) It isn't very big). The house was built before the war. wired for surround sound – sound, as well as a co-worker These speakers came highly recommended by a coworker who used to work as a musician. He said that for the size and price, you can't beat the sound and quality, and he was completely correct; these are perfect for my 12x15 living room. This center speaker is one of two Polk Audio RC65i 2-way speakers I have. RC80i 2-Way Polk Audio 2-Way Polk Audio RC80i 2-Way Polk Audio ceiling speakers in a unique way I'm glad I had them installed in the ceiling, by the way. I've heard from a few people that mounting them on the wall is fine. I didn't want garbage strewn across my ceiling. My ceilings are higher, but not by much. ceiling heights of ten feet I whole- I wholeheartedly endorse the speakers - If you're able to, hang them from the ceiling.
Speakers mounted on the wall This center channel was simple to put together, fit flush, and turned out exactly how I wanted it to. This center speaker sounds fantastic and gives our basement entertainment room a true theater feel. I sprayed the grill black, which matches the wall nicely, and I plan to color match it in the future.
Despite the fact that a stud is in the way. The install template is simple to use, and the center is very nice for the money. Of course, there's a chance you'll run into a stud right where you want the speaker, so you'll have to work around it. br>br>In my case, the stud was obstructing the right locking lugs, so I simply cut it out and it worked. I snagged it and threaded the wires through it. It's very simple. From turning on the box to watching great P2P content, it took about 45 minutes.
This center channel has a great look and sound to it. Although some reviewers have expressed dissatisfaction with the grill holes and color, I believe they are satisfactory. The color of the cover was good enough that I didn't need to paint it. I've included some images to help you visualize it.
