It is possible for mounting plates to break, but is guaranteed if they are installed before We anticipate a July 2020 start date

hoped that my first head unit purchase, after using my phone for years, would be the upgrade I needed for longer battery life and better rain resistance. With those features, this product is a success A flaw that has been widely publicized is omitted in my calculations It is unable to mount the unit to the mount because the mounting plate is weak. In my experience, I used it on fewer than 10 rides before it ejected from the mounting after My discovery of it in the ditch on the side of the road led to nearly everyone in the group I was riding with telling me they had the same problem or had heard of it. Upon contacting Garmin, their response was immediate, but the company wanted me to pay $140 for a refurbished unit (possibly the box of other returns that have replaced the case) and only a 90-day warranty A new unit comes with a warranty of 90 days. A third party company also referred me to them. The business model of this company is to sell $25 fix kits, which involve drilling holes and attaching a mounting plate using glue. In response to my argument, Garmin took an extra step and determined my unit is one manufactured prior to July, 2020 when they went on to upgrade this component of the device. As it is, they are delivering me a NEW unit, and offered me the choice of waiting until they received the broken one, or sending me the new one ASAP and charging It should work out, and I will update this review regardless of how things turn out.

Updates on maps are not possible
3/5

The Garmin systems I have been using in my cars are many years old. Garmin was my reason for buying my bike. What a big As far as I am aware, I have not been able to stop the beeping other than turning off the entire beep function. Reading 'turn-around' made me feel a little sick. When I heard the word 'turn,' I expected something similar to my car's navigation system. Not at all. All you get is a constant beeping, and you have to read the screen to learn what is going on. Having this little screen on your handlebars makes it easier to concentrate when you are riding in traffic, trying not to get run over, and trying to stay safe. A new version of the file will be released on 4/1/2021 (no. I'm not playing an April Fools' My very large D drive cannot run Garmin's program, and the tiny C drive is causing an overload. I can never update my map on this device!! It will not accept my very large D drive! I wasted a lot of money this way! In all honesty, this is probably the last Garmin that I will ever purchase!.

You are an absolute jerk
3/5

You should not have to spend an hour and a half troubleshooting to pair a new device with your smart phone when you spend 600 dollars on the purchase. Then you'll need to spend another half an hour talking to tech support. Then you'll have to download new software for three hours. Honestly, I've never had something like this with any mobile device I've ever used. Our time is an era of Apple products Needs to be ready to use as soon as it arrives. The product works differently in action - I have no idea how it works It must be a great event Nevertheless, I quickly began to enjoy my Wahoo from the very beginning. It has never been necessary for me to update the software in the past two years. I think there are better options available for you than going into IT support unless you plan to work in that field.

So far, I am very happy with it
5/5

Over the past 3 years, I have used my Garmin Edge 810 for at least two treks, but it started becoming temperamental so I decided it was time to The Edge 820 had worked well for me for years of riding 5,000+ miles per year. I was considering getting the new 820, however, the reviews looked terrible, so I decided to get It was tempting to get a Wahoo computer, but I decided to stick with Garmin instead. There is something to be said about a Multiply the bikes and each one has a power meter along with a HR monitor, and the process was easy. I like the touch screen, it fits my existing Garmin mount well and it is equipped with some cool features like a reminder to eat and drink if I wish as well as lots of other bells and whistles that Rather than waiting for Ride with GPS to download a course (which was one of my recent issues with the 810), I downloaded it quickly and easily.

A solid device that won't disappoint you, might not do much to wow you, but it's sure not to disappoint
4/5

Let me tell you what I can tell you. There are two Garmins on the boat. There's no reason to worry about it. If I had purchased the lessor model, I would have bought it rather than the higher model. However, there was a $200 discount from both Garmin and Amazon at that time, so I paid the same price as the lower model. Therefore, the decision is obvious. Having been a Garmin customer for years, I know the company and its products well. Previously I had Garmin car navigation devices, from StreetPilot to Nuvi to GM Navi, etc. They are rock solid. I recently upgraded to CarPlay from CarPlay, but for over a decade I used Garmin navigation devices. Despite its benefits, this device comes at a price. There isn't a lot of responsiveness in the touch screen. The screen does not scream "high brightness, great contrast," but it is visible with only the most direct glare of sunlight, and has a lengthy battery life - at least 15 hours. The long rides will be a lot easier with that! From the point of view of functionality, it is compatible with other devices as well (integrating speed, cadence, heart sensors, alongside front and rear Bontrager smart lighting systems). Seeing how I tend to wander, I like the directions, and then when I feel my 'gas tank' running low I can command it to direct me to my destination. With all the variety of options available, I probably don't use it to its full potential, but I still appreciate how convenient it is for getting around and seeing how your heart rate, speed, distance, etc are doing. Only the screen isn't perfect, and I suspect the touch sensor isn't as good either, though I suspect the choice was unintentional to get something cheap and with a good battery life. Kudos to Garmin for including All of these items are included two disc-based mounts, lots of silicon bands in different sizes, and an out front mount. The chances are that you aren't mounting it properly if you can't mount it to your bike.

The touch screen is excellent, but the battery may be a problem
4/5

The display is great, although perhaps a little dim. A step up in features over my old Garmin Edge 510, so this is a big upgrade. I was able to view multiple selected metrics during a ride by easily customizing. It would have been a good deal to get an Edge 520, but the 1030 was on sale for $200. According to what I've read, the 520 is just as good as the 525. I would have given the 1030 5 stars if not for the battery - after two months, it began to behave strangely. Overnight, the majority of the people went to zero. I was unable to start the computer, so I had to perform a full reboot, which suddenly reduced the power to 20%. As we wait for the results, we'll find out if she's happy or if the relationship.
