Any number of issues could be at play, including a faulty connector. All I can say is that changing this connector is a major operation that requires the screen to be removed. Check out UTube for a number of videos that demonstrate the process. Be aware that his solution will almost certainly result in the destruction of your screen and other small components. A refurb unit, which costs around $100, is a better bet.

The kit did exactly what I needed it to do and provided a reliable charging connection for my old iPad. I gave it four stars because the tools that came with it were TINY and insufficient for the job. It wasn't a big deal for me because I have all the necessary tools. I believe they could omit the tool, reduce the price by a few cents, and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.
This worked perfectly and gave my old iPad a new battery and digitizer screen, bringing it back to life. Getting the old digitizer screen off without cracking it in order to access the iPad's interior is a difficult task, so congratulations if you succeed! Fortunately, a replacement digitizer screen is also reasonably priced; overall, I was very pleased with this part, and my iPad now charges without issue.
My original charging port had failed, so I purchased this one to replace it. I set it up in the hopes of charging my tablet quickly. I still haven't gotten my pad to charge.
I was replacing the glass on my 7-year-old IPAD2, so I figured I'd replace the port while I was at it. There are no installation instructions included. For how-to information, I recommend watching videos on YouTube.
It looks and functions exactly like the original, and it's a fantastic deal. (However, replacing it is a major job, as the screen must be removed. ).
It worked fine and I was able to replace it without any difficulty. I was about to throw away my iPad when it was saved.
The unit lasted about a week before becoming flaky and cutting out. It works for a minute or two every now and then.
It was simple to put together; just watch out for the screws!.
