A DS was sent to us. We purchased a 410 and are extremely pleased with it.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah However, it is dependent on your benchmark or end goal. Of course, the quality of a scan is heavily influenced by the original photo's quality. I was pleased with the quality of this scanner when I used it to scan photos for a Mixbook hardbound collection of family photos.
Because I only have this scanner connected to a single Mac, I'm not sure if it can be networked. Because it connects via a USP cable, you might be able to use a switch with it. For me, it's an excellent tool. I haven't had any problems since I purchased a document carrier for small receipts. Even in double-digit speeds, it's quick. a two-sided mode
I didn't realize the picture depicted a different model when I purchased it! I based my decision on the page's "Product Information" (scroll down a bit) and what I saw (DS-1). At the top of the page, there is a number (410). I did, in fact, get a DS-XXXXXXXXXXXXX 410 Note: The DS- is a "RENEWED" model. 410, i. A refurbished unit can be defined in a variety of ways. I've only used it a few times so far, but it's been very effective.

It scans both sides of a page at the same time, which I really like. I dislike that it occasionally eats small receipts from a grocery store, gas station, or other location, despite the fact that the footprint is small and the startup is quick. It is simple to use the scanning interface. I've had it for about a month and am very happy with it so far.
It's still early in the game, but so far it's been a breeze to use. I'll admit that I have low expectations because I've only used the scanning feature on a few all-in-one computers. Used for scanning personal papers in batches of 30 in the last few years, so thebr>Ease of setup/installbr>Feeder capacitybr>Speed of processingbr>Ease of adding extra pagesbr>Ease of filingbr>have all exceeded expectationsbr> Each batch took less than a minute to complete. If you want to file the papers again, keep in mind that the output "tray" does not guarantee that the pages will stay in the same order. This isn't an issue for me because I shred the originals. br>The only problem I've had so far was a paper jam (due to user error) that required a reboot.
The scanner was shipped in foam packaging, which ensured that it arrived in good condition. It appeared to be unopened and undamaged, as if it had been opened and returned. A ziplock bag contained the scanner, power supply, USB cable, and a small instruction manual. Before I got the DS-1000, I downloaded the Epson software. When my Epson DS-410 arrived, I plugged it in. It was recognized when I plugged the 410 into a USB port. I updated the software because it prompted me to do so. Everything went according to plan. br>I decided to put it to the test, and it quickly scanned a page, though the quality was poor. I fiddled with the software and discovered that it had been set to the lowest quality setting, so I increased it to 600x600dpi. When I scanned it again, it took a lot longer, but the quality was much better. I couldn't tell the difference between the original PDF and the scanned PDF when they were laser printed. br>In my case, this was a great deal.
I received exactly what I had requested. I'm pleased with my purchase.
