Questions & Answers

In comparison with AXTRA 8- channel power strips, how are the aPC power strips Are there any outlets with metal power strips?

The AXTRA power strip with 8 outlets has a metal housing, while the APE box has a plastic enclosure.

the surge protection keep the power flowing even if the surge arrester ?

It sounds like you are talking about a failure There is a safety feature in this, and it claims to have one. This is a feature I think is important. There are a number of cheap units that pass power through after ten thousand small surges have exhausted their protection capacity (like the ones created when your refrigerator compressor starts up). Although it is best to just replace your surge protectors every 10 years at most, the fail-safe feature is a nice to have for people like me, or for people who don't watch out for it.

With the exception of the name, this surge protector is identical to one sold by Amazon for less than $10. What differences does it have in terms of material characteristics?

The following has been added to the amended version (06/2021) There is something I need to update in my previous answer. Currently this unit is rated at the following clamping voltages I have a 400v line The current limit is 500 volts, N 100 G, 500 V With a power of 4320 joules and a force of G. **The unit sold by Amazon is almost identical, but it does not have the same ratings and its clamping voltage is not as good as our unit The voltage between all three legs should be 600 volts They are paired. It is important to note that Underwriter's Labs (UL) has updated their surge protector rating guidelines, and parameters in the last year, making it more difficult to compare today's units with those from years past.

Can you tell me what the maximum wattage is?

I can tell you the maximum operating Wattage is 1800W if you are asking about that. In the event the load becomes too great on the unit, a built-in 15 Amp overload breaker will be activated.

Marketed incorrectly, APC does not offer this service
3/5

According to the marketing photo of this surge protector published by Amazon and also shown by APC on their website, the voltage ratings of the power line let through the protector are 330 volts across the board. However, when the product is received, the voltage ratings are 400 volts. The 500-word limit A total of five of the items were returned to me.

A wonderful surge protector
5/5

I will buy more of them. let's get the basics out of the way It's nice to have the outlets spaced out so wide. With the right plug, I can easily add an outlet without covering up the rest. Under the overhang, the reset switch is ideal - it allows easy access to the switch while you're not using it. Previous surge protectors would always be tripped by my cat who walked over the switch and cut off everything. The solution to that problem is here. It is nice to have the power cable to be swiveled so you don't have to worry about twisting it into an awkward position. It's easy to tell that APC spent a lot of time on its design. I live in a place where lightning frequently strikes, and now here is the important part I'm here because of lightning. I picked up this television shortly after I purchased it, and a lightning strike fried two of my wall outlets, including the one to which this TV was connected. All the devices I plugged into this surge protector were fine, and they all still work. The washing machine and cable modem in another room, as well as my TV, did not fare as well. The next time I buy these, I will definitely buy more.

This was the third time this year that a new product from Amazon was used, and it seemed to be fair at best
3/5

The Amazon trend would be extremely disappointing for me if this were to continue. You should check the items you have purchased from Amazon for signs of wear once One socket didn't work at all and another didn't function at all. However, I only needed five sockets in total. I have been able to use the sockets that work, so I think it worked.

This is a great buy at $26, I paid $32 for it and am quite pleased with it
5/5

Green light and brightness are not an issue. I got right to work on the ivy of cables dangling from my TV and other sources after taking this out of the box. There was an 8 outlet power strip that was probably not surge protected, since it was old. I had to untangle all power cords after getting into this unit, but it looked wonderfully sturdy and in contrast with what I was using before. After all the wiring was connected, there was a green light that illuminated, which is a warning sign that our wiring is likely to be unsafe. Our house was built in 1953, so it is good to know everything is in working order. The additional three outlets would have been sufficient for me if I had used nine of the 12 ports. Since I don't have bulky adapters to worry about, I'm not concerned about their size. The extension cord was removed as it says not to use them with this power strip, so I heeded their warning, and it saved me 10 feet of cable. For my purposes, the 6' cord is adequate. It would have been nice to have 8' but it is not a major concern. People complain about the green light also, but it is really not a bother. The light is under the coffee table, and you can turn it away from you, like I did, so it should not even be a complaint, yet people will find any excuse to complain. So I cannot tell you much about how fast it charges because I haven't tested the 2 USB ports to power my iPad or phone. As far as safety during a surge is concerned, I feel better already. In the event of a power failure, I won't lose my stereo, tv, and other equipment. My biggest fear is house fires, but I don't feel like I have anything to be worried about with this monster. Because it lays flat and isn't a tower, I find it appealing. I think this is an excellent deal for $32. I was trying to decide between the echogear and this one, but chose the one with a higher Joule rating since I have a lot of equipment attached. This product is pleasing to me, simple to set up, easy to use, and has safety slides to close the outlets that are not filled, but 12 outlets is an adequate amount, which should be enough for most normal people's Buying one would be a good idea. Should I encounter any problems, I will update this post.

We need protection! In order to replace the 12 year old APC SurgeArrest device, it showed a green light I wished to confirm that it The home of a cousin was destroyed by a surge protector of unknown brand that was aged
5/5

Although I am confident that what I have been using for 12 years is fine and dandy, I felt spooked and wanted to make SURE that my computer and associated paraphernalia were protected as best as No matter if the surge protector is green or red, I am unsure what I should do with the 12 year old product. TechHive recommended a new device to me and I read several other articles on it. Good to go, I'm ready!.

This surge protector is nice, but it has an awfully bright light
3/5

The surge protector/power strip on this thing works well as a surge protector/power strip. They have enough space between them to allow for plugging things in, which is nice, and I haven't had a problem using them. Furthermore, I appreciate that it's not too heavy because the underside of my desk is adhered to it. There are two complaints I have about the surge protector that are too annoying not As a result, the power switch is on the side, rather than the top, and I've accidentally hit the switch when grabbing the surge protector while moving Fortunately, this is only a minor issue, and I can just handle the surge protector carefully from now on. I'm much more bothered by the lighting on the surge protector, which I find much more bothersome. There is a large green light wrapped around one end of the surge protector. It is too bright and it is too If this were to be used in a living room or other room where people may be spending time in the dark, it could pose a potential problem. Basically, manufacturers have to learn that bright lights on basic electronics like this are a no-no and, if you must have a bright light, make it red so that it doesn't light up the room at night and is less distracting. In order to handle my situation, I have temporarily covered the light with electrical tape. I will eventually paint over it, leaving just a tiny bit of color so I can tell when it's on or off. This is worth keeping in mind if you are going to use it in a living space. As long as it's going to be in a place where no one will be near the office at night or most of the room lights will be on, this should work.

You did a good job
5/5

Surge protector just got mounted behind and below my entertainment center on the wall. My TV and electronics are protected by the nice green glow, so I cannot be more sure that all is well. After conducting a Google search to find the best surge protector, I bought the product. It is great how the protection will turn off once it is no longer active, so I know not to keep trying to use it and to use the lifetime warranty if needed. APC, thanks for your contribution. P. Also, P. Registration is needed at APC. Don't forget to do so!.
