Aside from the side buttons you can set them to do just about anything.... For the 510, you can download the Logitech options here... You can install that... It is there that you can fine tune your settings.... You can adjust the volume by raising, lowering or muting.... You just need to copy/paste. You can zoom in and out. Making coffee is easy... Put the dishes in the dishwasher... There are 55 tasks to choose from.
In reality, however, it will fit into nearly every trunk of a subcompact or compact car. The weight was heavy, so I got some help lifting it... It's easy to remove the batteries, but you have to unscrew the back.
Logitech Options can be found if you go into the menu (little windows all the way on the bottom left). When the picture of your mouse appears, select Mouse at the top left, there will be dots on the left and right buttons, click on the chick at the center of the button you want to modify. There is a choice called None at the bottom of the list. It's the ability to copy and paste using these buttons that made me purchase this mouse. If you prefer a less sophisticated mouse, a cheaper alternative would be a good option for you.
It will work on any Windows PC that has an available USB port since it has its own usb wireless interface, the small black and silver chip shown in the image.

After using the first one for more than a year, it started doing a double click whenever it was pushed once. I got another one when it was facing the same issue. There is no point in caring about that. It was a great "normal" mouse with all of the bells and whistles and didn't try to be anything special. It is a beautiful mouse, A month after I bought my first one, I ordered a second one. As soon as it started doing double clicks, it began deleting things I didn't mean to delete. The second one I ordered arrived in September of 2017. My second one is doing the same thing as the first one now in February of 2018. The problem does not get better with new batteries. It was the first time I ordered a brand I was unfamiliar with.
The old Logitech M510 had been faithfully serving me for years and now it had to be retired. It had taken years of video games, office work, and abuse to get to this point. Holding down the left mouse button no longer registers a hold, instead just repeat clicking is registered. With the new scroll wheel, every other scrolling motion is skipped. As a result of thousands of hours of use, the rubber pads on the sides have smoothed out. As well as. . . That's all I have to say. Besides that, everything else works as it should. really pretty incredible. Despite being tossed about the desk in frustration at the hands of gamer button mashing over Call of Duty and World of Warcraft raid wipes. My cat knocked it off the desk countless times for no other reason than he is a jerk, and therefore he is a cat. This item survived three moves throughout the city, where it was unceremoniously thrown into a moving box to be unpacked later. Even though it tracks perfectly, it still works. In all cases, it registers clicks (except for the hold-down problem). Even after so many years, the batteries still work. The situation still remains the same. . . The project is complete. Even if I throw it away, I'm not going to make it go to waste. I'll keep it in the old computer stuff box as a backup just in case my cat strikes again.
So, when it was time to retire my old friend, I couldn't find another one that would do. In my research, I found that Logitech offers newer products. Several of them were designed specifically for gamers. Wired mice offer an advantage in latency when compared to wireless mice. tried one of those new vertical mice (nbsp;.
A mouse like this makes me feel as if I went back 15 years. There are severe problems with the tracking. There are times when I have to pick it up and move it to get the pointer to reset itself. It wasn't till I ordered a new mouse pad (yes, I didn't have any on hand since I thought most mouse manufacturers had discarded them) that I found various surfaces that worked for me. It didn't work. Although the mouse pad improved things slightly, it was still only a modest change. The damn thing would go back if I still had the original packaging, but I inadvertently throw away the packaging too quickly, not thinking this could be a problem. UPDATED: Sorry about that mistake. Ok, after several more days of frustration, I did a bit more research and have figured out what's causing the issue. Using the computer, I connected the mouse to the USB port, which had its own dongle, which I had cleverly hidden inside the mouse. When the mouse and dongle are more than 12 inches apart, the mouse will not be able to reach the computer on a consistent basis. There's no way that's true. Three or more feet is a reasonable distance from where it can work. My opinion is that it is a very poor design. There is no connection over two feet and over 12 inches. It works fine when they are close. But if they move farther, it's sporadic. Make sure you are careful when purchasing.
As a business mouse, this is my favorite so far. Cannot comment on gaming, but as a business mouse it's great. I had no issues with the mouse in the office, it worked quickly with no lag or stutter, and was very responsive. I would probably buy it again. In my case, I have two at home and one at work.
General issues:
- You need to clean the glider on the bottom periodically, otherwise it will create uneven resistance, and the cursor will jump. There isn't enough glue used in the project. The adhesive may need to be reapplied.
